Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS script to disable Ctrl + Shift + D

2015-05-08 Thread DH
Hi Dave,

How would I go about disabling that keystroke in JAWS for Excel? Would I
need to go into keyboard manager? I never use it so it doesn't need to be
workbook specific.

Thanks,
David

Dave,

I could tell you how to disable that keystroke when using Excel, but not
sure if it can be done only for a particular workbook. That sounds like a

keystroke inspecific Excel workbook

Hi,

How would I go about writing a JAWS script to disable the JAWS keystroke
'Ctrl + Shift + D' whenever the workbook 'Test.xls' is open for example.

I would like to use that keystroke with an Excel macro.

[JAWS-Users] Accessible list box or drop down list in Excel 2013

2015-05-01 Thread DH
Hi,

I have a list of customer's names that I would like to be able to access in
an accessible drop down list or drop box in Excel for data validation
purposes. Is there any way to do this using either JAWS or NVDA?

Thanks,
Dave

[JAWS-Users] Excel - Unused keyboard shortcuts to assign to macros and designing user forms

2015-04-20 Thread DH
Hi,

I'm looking for a list of unused keyboard shortcuts I can assign to macros
in Excel 2013. The only two I've come across that aren't already being used
by JAWS or Excel are Ctrl + j and Ctrl + m.

Also, I would like to use Excel as a simple database. Is there any easy way
to create user forms without needing to use the mouse. Drop down lists don't
work with JAWS at present which is making it difficult to link data
together.

Kind regards,

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS crashing when using internet explorer

2015-01-02 Thread DH
I like to have lots of different articles open so I can have up to 30 tabs
open but IE can crash when there's less than 5 tabs open. I have 4gb of RAM.
I'm experimenting with v16 and it still crashes at times though I've not had
long to test it out yet.

[JAWS-Users] keyboard command to skip ads in youtube

2015-01-02 Thread DH
Hi,

When a youtube video starts playing, a 'skip ad' button appears on screen
that people can click to skip the ad that is playing and go straight to the
video. Is there a keyboard command to access this button using JAWS?

Thanks,

[JAWS-Users] JAWS not reading drop down lists and comments in Excel 2013

2014-12-31 Thread DH
Hi,

I've tried JAWS 15 and 16 on a windows 7 machine. JAWS isn't reading drop
down lists in Excel 2013. I press alt + down arrow to open the drop down
list but when I use the arrow keys to navigate through the list, JAWS won't
say anything. I have to press enter on the item I think I want and then
navigate back to the cell to make sure I've chosen the right option. I'm
also noticing that JAWS won't read comments when I right click on a cell and
choose 'Insert comment' from the menu. Again, JAWS won't say anything when I
use the arrow keys to try to review what I've written in the comment.

Any help would be appreciated,

David

[JAWS-Users] JAWS crashing when using internet explorer

2014-12-31 Thread DH
Hi,

JAWS and IE11 both crash a lot when I am using IE especially when I have
lots of tabs open at the same time. Is JAWS making IE crash more? I get
multiple crashes throguhout the day. Sometimes I can restart IE and carry on
what I'm doing, but other times JAWS crashes as well and I can't get it to
restart without restarting the PC. My computer fan also starts wirring at a
higher speed when this happens.

[JAWS-Users] Reading contact list in Outlook 2013 and JAWS 15

2014-12-22 Thread DH

Hi,

I'm using JAWS 15 with Outlook 2013. I press Control + 3 to go to the
contacts view. JAWS won't automatically read the contact name when I press
the up and down arrow keys to move through them. I have to press insert +
Tab on every contact to hear which one I'm on.
The view is set to 'card view'.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David
