[JAWS-Users] Repeated Messages and the jaws 10 update
It appears that since the latest update Jaws is often reading things more than once...for example in Windows mail, Jaws will say 15 messages 10 unread, over and over, two or three times consecutively. Or in writing a message and tabbing through the to, cc, and bcc fields it will read who the message is to in all 3 fields even when the cc, and bcc are blank it is reading the to field information in those empty fields. Using Windows Vista and Jaws 10.0.1139 Another example is that when I just went in to get the version number from the About box, Jaws read the bottom line of this box more than once...is this a setting or a bug? Re: [JAWS-Users] Repeated Messages and the jaws 10 update
Hehahaha, I guess then I should just figure that I am getting twice as much for my money! After all, we pay dearly for our screen readers so we want to get the most out of them that we can? Seriously, it has always been an issue, but apparently worse now with this newest update...fun, fun. @- ~Dixie~ -@ - Original Message - From: Larry Stansifer lar...@infowest.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Saturday, March 14, 2009 12:03 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Repeated Messages and the jaws 10 update Dixie, This has been an issue with jaws for so long it is neither bug or setting. [JAWS-Users] Windows Mail Spell Checker?
Using Jaws 9, Windows Vista, and Windows Mail my friend is having the following issue when trying to use the spell checker. I have Word 2003 rather than Office 2007. It is loaded on my computer and when I press the F7 to access, I get the following message: This language is no longer available for spell checking. Please select another option in the spelling dialog. There is nothing else to select. Can someone tell us how to make her spell checker work? [JAWS-Users] moving my settings to new computer
I have been unsuccessfully attempting to move my settings from my old XP computer running Jaws 9 to my new Vista computer . I have Jaws installed on the new computer and authorized. I am attempting to save my settings, such as exceptions dictionary and move them by jump drive to the new computer. From what I understand I am to copy the enu file and paste it into the new computer. I thought I had done this successfully but there were no changes made to my settings. So, could one of you very wise folks please tell me the steps to accomplish this task? Thank you! [JAWS-Users] marking and selecting text
I have been searching for information about marking and selecting text. I believe there is a way to leave a place marker, read through a document and find an ending place, then by hitting some key combination select all text back to the place marker that had been left prior in the document. I cannot find any directions for this though in the Jaws help files. Am I using the wrong terminology in my search efforts? Re: [JAWS-Users] eloquence and Jaws
John, An easy solution to this problem would be for you to put the information in Ming's header into your exception dictionary. Then change your Jaws to say whatever it is you would like it to say each time it sees that particular string of characters. - Original Message - From: John Justice [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, October 26, 2007 9:04 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] eloquence and Jaws Hello Ming. Your title is driving my Jaws crazy. It's reading like you had your Capslock on or something. For the sake of sanity and Jaws users, could you create another e-mail identity? How about just Ming?
