Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows Mail Stuck Message

2008-08-22 Thread Mike Williamson
Try going into your file menu, then arrowing down to work offline.

Press enter on work offline (which will stop Win mail from trying to send
the message).

Go to your outbox either try to delete it or move it to another folder, then
delete once it gets moved to another folder.

If it initially doesn't work then exit out of Win mail and then start back
up and try to delete/move and delete again.

Remember that when you're all done to switch back to work online.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows Mail Stuck Message

I have a message stuck in my outbox of Windows Mail.

I have checked it for virus and it is clean. It cannot be deleted, moved,
or sent. If I try to do any of those choices it says an unknown error has
occurred Can someone give me an idea on how to remove it.

Using Windows Vista, and Jaws 9.

Thanks!

[JAWS-Users] Insert-A not allowing me to move to attachment

2008-08-14 Thread Mike Williamson
Hey gang,

A wise friend of mine told me that by pressing Insert-A in Outlook that I
can quickly move to the attachment in an email. I've tried this multiple
times, but I've been unable to make this work. I'm using XP, JAWS 8 and
Outlook 2007. Any help and/or information would be beneficial. Thanks
again!

[JAWS-Users] JAWS Doubletalk in Word

2008-08-14 Thread Mike Williamson
Hey gang,

I've come across this problem quite a bit with JAWS 9 in both Word 2003 and
2007. When reading line by line or word by word in MS Word, JAWS will read
one word/line then when I go to the next word/line it will repeat the same
word/line again and totally skip the actual next word/line. Has anyone else
experienced this? Anyone know the cause and/or solution to such a problem?

[JAWS-Users] Trouble with JAWS not reading menu bar items

2008-01-13 Thread Mike Williamson
I believe some other folks had this issue but I was not able to find the
discussion in the archives, so I'm gonna ask again. I've got a student who
recently put JAWS 9 (9.0.519 to be exact) on his new laptop which is running XP
Home and when he's using MS Word '03, JAWS fails to read the menu bar items and
the submenu items. Can anyone tell me how to correct this. Like I said I know
it was discussed earlier, so I apologize for reposting.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problems with MS Narrator

2007-12-06 Thread Mike Williamson
Right, I've had her do this, however, I was wondering if there was something
she might be doing accidentally that might be turning the narrator on or if
anyone had heard of the narrator just randomly turning on without a prompt.
Thanks for the info though.

Exit narrator. If this can't be done in normal conditions, bring up the
utilities menu with Windows-U, u, and then close the utilities window and
tab to the narrator exit button and enter. .

Hey gang,

I've got a colleague who states that her MS narrator occasionally pops up
without any prompt from her, causing a verbosity battle between JAWS and the
narrator. She is running an XP OS and was using JAWS 8 (she just switched
to 9). I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced this and if so, what
can be done to keep this from happening. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, we dealt with that issue before. I informed her of that hotkey, however,
she is stating that it just pops up out of nowhere. I'm thinking that I might
look further into David's theory, as I've not thought of that. Thanks to both

If she shuts down the computer by pressing windows key and then pressing U,
she maybe holding down the windows key while pressing U. This is the hot
key for starting Narrator.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS not Reading Books saved in Word Format

2007-10-19 Thread Mike Williamson
I am using JAWS 8 and attempting to read coursework which is saved on disk in
Word format. Occasionally I'm having trouble with JAWS not reading the material
that is on the disk. Could this be a Word format issue or something else. He
consistently says blank, blank, blank, when I'm going through the document.
Sorry to be so vague but I'm not sure how to proceed with this problem. Any
information would be a step in the right direction.

[JAWS-Users] Reading Text in Word

2007-09-10 Thread Mike Williamson
Hey gang,

I was wondering if there was a placemarker function in JAWS for Word like
there is for the web... I've got a lot of texts for school that require days
worth of reading. I was hoping there was a way to save my spot so i could turn
off my machine and come right back to that spot when I turn it back on. Thanks
for any info!
