Re: [JAWS-Users] turning off laptop display completely
Depending on the manufacturer of the laptop, Dell for instance, the function key (fn) + F8 will toggle the display between Laptop monitor only, second display, such as data projector only, of display on both. So you could press function + F8 until the laptop display is black. Hope that helps. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Adhimoolam Vetrivel Murugan Sent: Friday, August 21, 2009 12:59 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] turning off laptop display completely Hello, To my knowledge, the only way to turn-off the display is by closing the lid and attaching an external keyboard. Thanks. That does work. Pressing ALT + C opens the favorites menu, then arrow to the Tab Group. The application key opens the menu and allows you to select Open In Tab Group and press Enter, or pressing G. If there is a way to open all of the tabs at once from the favorites menu for a sighted user it is not available to a JAWS user. >From the Microsoft's explanation of tab browsing, this is the entire reason for creating a tab group favorite. I use tab browsing all the time, but never set up a tab group favorite until I got your message. I at least thought there would be an option in the Applications menu to perform this task when on the created tab group name in the favorites menu. Perhaps this is a oversight by Microsoft.
