Re: [JAWS-Users] on some websites I can't activate buttons
I experience this quite a lot too. Using latest build of FireFox under Windows 8.1 with a TripleTalk USB synth. I have to use the JAWS v17 OCR feature ([Insert]+[Spacebar], [o], then [w]) and then use the JAWS cursor to locate the button text to left mouse click on it. It's like JAWS isn't getting the correct X/Y coordinates for the link/button as you're using the virtual cursor to read/navigate through the webpage. It is really a pain in the butt when I thought hitting the [Enter] or [Spacebar] key on a link or button would simulate a left mouse click. Guess FS has secretly disabled this functionality or something? At 09:54 PM 11/27/2015, you wrote: Joanne, I have run into the same problems with web sites too especially banking. I see it a lot on banking sites and on submit or continue buttons. [JAWS-Users] Question regarding Eudora Pro and JAWS accessibility?
Well there really is no accessibility issues. I've been using Eudora Pro for about 15 years and I can't believe there's no email program out there that can compleat with it to date? Came across a nagging SSL certificate error problem a few days ago, but was able to fix it thanks to the info revealed at this page: http://blog.timeoff.org/rick/2015/01/07/eudora-and-ssl-certificate-failures/ I'm not sure if anyone on this list still uses Eudora Pro for accessing their email using JAWS, but I need to know something? How can a program that stopped being supported almost 10 years ago still work so well (Not sure about Windows 10, but it does work flawlessly on Windows 8.1 and earlier) and other email clients can't seem to get it right? Does anyone know if someone plans on bringing back Eudora Pro? I know it's open source now but can't find a newer version that is as stable as v 7.1.09. [JAWS-Users] Looking for a Speech Friendly Back Up Utility.
Hello, I'm using the latest build of JAWS 15 with a Triple Talk USB Synth on a Windows 7 64 Bit Home Edition computer. I'm looking for a basic back up utility for storing designated files to my DropBox folder on a weekly schedule. I don't care about a bunch of fancy bells and whistles. This program must be accessible using the computer configuration I mentioned above. I just want to be able to configure the utility to back up specific files from various folders on my C and D drive partition to my DropBox folder. DropBox will then handle the transport to an on-line storage account. Don't care if it is free or paid. All suggestions are welcome. Re: [JAWS-Users] simple, straight forward backing up
This Karen's Replicator is just what the doctor ordered. Very speech friendly. Not a bunch of bells and whistles to confuse things. Had my first backup job setup within 3 minutes of installing the program. The only thing I wish could be added is the ability to have it launch during Windows Startup and automatically minimize to the System Tray. Yes, realize I could simply place a shortcut to the program in the Windows Startup folder, but how about having it automatically minimize to the System Tray? Thanks Karen for making this utility available. At 08:21 PM 6/7/2014, you wrote: Personally I like the oldest version because the jobs are all saved in a single text file called settings. [JAWS-Users] JAWS 13 Working with Capture Images?
Hello, I'm using the latest build of JAWS 13 under Windows 7 64 Bit Premium edition. I just got a new Dell XPS laptop and have installed both Firefox 11 and Internet Explorer 9, which JAWS 13 works well with both browsers. One problem, the excellent add-on for deciphering those pesky capture images (Webvisum) hasn't been updated to work with FireFox 11. I'm kind of surprised that HJ hasn't given this deciphering capability to JAWS 13 yet for it's obvious these Capture images are a problem for visually impared end-users on the web. Does anyone know if the creator has plans of updating Webvisum to work with FireFox 11? If not, is there any other add-on or program available that will do what Webvisum did under FireFox 3.6? Patrick, think you're being a little hard on HJ. Yes, I'm quite upset with the 12 release, but JAWS has been a blessen in my eyes in accessing the Internet and doing work on my PC.
