[JAWS-Users] Wordpress version 2.5

2010-02-19 Thread The Bates Family
Hi listers:

I've recently started learning about how to blog. I'm taking an Internet course
using Wordpress. I started out using Wordpress 2.9 but found out from the
instructor that version 2.5 is much easier to use with adaptive equipment. She
let me try out a modified version of 2.5 on her site and it is easier to
navigate with JAWS.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this version? I checked out
wordpress.org, but all they offer is the latest version. Why would anyone make
a newer version less adaptable? Anyway, if anyone knows where I can find, or
can get me a copy of version 2.5 let me know off list. Take care, Barbara

[JAWS-Users] accessing a pdf with JAWS

2009-05-01 Thread The Bates Family
Charline:

The link is on two lines and due to the formating here, a space was put in
between the lines. What I did was to copy both lines into word, get rid of the
space, recopy it, and then go to Internet Explorer and put it in. It worked.
Take care, Barbara

[JAWS-Users] Using Dictionary.com

2009-06-14 Thread The Bates Family
Hi Listers:

I've been using a lot of dictionary.com recently. Though it seems compatible at
first, it has a couple of problems. The one that bothers me most is how to
find the dictionary entreys.
I enter the word and then submit it. If I want the thesaurus entry I hit
that. The thesaurus entries are easier to find than the dictionary ones.

My question is: Is there a key combination to find the dictionary entries?
I have to go through the entire listing line by line to find it, and sometimes
even that doesn't work. So, I call on sighted help, if it's around. Any
suggestions? Thanks. Barbara

[JAWS-Users] Usable Blog Software

2008-02-05 Thread The Bates Family
Hi:
I'm intrested in starting a blog. I know some of the software out there
(WordPress, for example) isn't totally accessible. Is there a list of low priced
accessible blog software? Or if not, what software are people who use JAWS
using? I've heard of Blogger and Blogspot, but have no information whether or
not they're accessible.
I'm very new here. How does one receive answers? Do I have to check in or
will people answer at my Email address (which is
[EMAIL PROTECTED])?
Anyway, I'd like to take a Internet blogging course starting Feb. 11, and
would appreciate information before then. Thanks and take care, Barb

[JAWS-Users] Deep View link

2009-01-28 Thread The Bates Family
Hi:
I'm interested in the Deep View software that allows you to make different
kinds of flow charts. I'd like to use it for two reasons -- one for flow
charts, and also for the "mind-maps" used for organizing ideas.

But, I tried to download the software, twice, and got the message "software
corrupted" both times. Has anyone else downloaded this software, and did it
download correctly? If so, what can I be doing wrong?

When the run-save screen came up, I put the file into a folder I'd created in
my "Program Files" folder, called DeepView. It downloaded okay, but when I went
to run the setup file I got the corrupt file message.

All help is appreciated. Barbara

2009-01-29 Thread The Bates Family

Roopakshi:

I got the setup file to download by using Firefox. It successfully unzipped in
a folder I'd named DeepView.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't run. Both the deepview.exe file and the icon on my
desktop gave the same message: What do I do so it will run from my computer?
