[JAWS-Users] Focus Blue Question

2015-12-13 Thread brian albriton
Greetings!

I've been lookingd through the focus 14/40 blue braille displays
documentation and not finding the command for alt-tab.

The other sequence is how to go to the search box and right arrow to the
shut-down choice in windows 7 using the braille display.

[JAWS-Users] Latest major update for windows 10

2015-10-31 Thread brian albriton
What was that update called?
I'm thinking it came out in October and is what we might have called a
service pack at one time.
I'll not be upgrading myself until I get a new computer which may be a
spell.

Hi Kinsan,
It's not you, it's all these, so called, warning emails about w-10.
They are a waist of time to read, they give no edification about using Jaws
on any computer system.
Some people are trying to discourage others from trying out W-10.
Like yourself, I have been using W-10 from the beginning, no issues..?

Hi Kinson,
If you love w-7, you will love w-10.
No need to worry or to give out warnings, about Microsoft wanting people to
upgrade to w-10.
this is an advantage to all computer users of w-10.
Sense Microsoft has made w-10 universally freely available for desktops,
laptops, tablets, and phones and wireless devices of all sorts.
They can focus on making this universal w-10 operating system better for all
users.
So, everyone benefits, we the users of assistive technology, do not have to
worry about w-10 either.
Microsoft offers us the free, Microsoft support technical line, for the
users of the Jaws screen reader.
So, we get a free upgrade to w-10, and free technical assistance with w-10.
What a deal!
so, Why are blind people panicking, wining, warning, stressing out, being
anguished, and over all complaining about something they have not tried yet.
Something to talk about, I guess...
I have used it now for 3 months, and I personally love it.
I would not go back to any previous system if given the chance to.
Give it a shot, and I am sure you will like it as well.
Microsoft is here to help you if you have any issues.
They are very kind, and take their time with you solving your problem...
With the built in Narrator, screen reader, if Jaws goes down for any reason,
you can navigate and use your whole computer with Narrator, great back up
screen reader.

[JAWS-Users] Drop Box Selective sync

2015-08-15 Thread brian albriton
I've looked at these instructions below and am not finding these options,
for instance the gear icon.

Is this part of dropbox accessible for jaws user?

To enable Selective Sync, head to your Dropbox preferences from your
desktop:

Select which folders to sync on Windows

1.Click on the Dropbox icon from the system tray.

2.Click on the gear icon and select Preferences... from the menu.

3.Click the Account tab. (Dropbox for Business users: If you have connected
your personal and work Dropboxes, you'll also need to select the Dropbox for
which you want to change settings at the top of the tab.)

4.Click the Selective Sync... button.

I'd advise you to go to FSCast and listen very closely to episode 109. They
tell you exactly how to set up Internet Explorer as the default browser in
Windows 10 because the new browser isn't ready for accessibility just yet. For

HYi, folks. I was tyrying to test some of your ideas out by going to my
gmail account and attaching some files. I am only seeing folders in gamil
and even when opening these folders I see no files in them, only suib
folders.
What detail could I be missing?
Its odd because I know where the files are, I just can't get gmail to see
them.

hello;

firstly, no need to go into the menu to save the attachments,

once you are inside the message,
you shift+tab to the attached files,
use your arrow keys to highlight,
now press the applications key, arrow up to save, now, keep in mind, the
default folder for outlook is, documents.
if you wish to change the default folder, this is another story.

hope this helps.

Hi yes I do get that message by using insert page down and here is the
answer.

If your in box has 100 messages it will tell you that and it will say 80
messages that you haven't read that means that at sometime you have opened
20 of the messages.

This is a way for you to know how many messages are in a folder also. So say
you wanted to see how many messages in a folder you have made you can use
the same command. Hope I have answered your questions.

Hello list,

So I’m trying to figure out how to read tabs for the guitar. I’ve always
played by ear or memorization, but figured I’d finally learn tabs. Doing so
however seems a bit challenging with Jaws. I’m sure it in part has to do
with my lack of familiarity with tabs in general, but with all the E’s, b’s,
g’s and dashes and so on, it sounds like Jaws is just reading a bunch of
gibberish. Can anyone recommend a better method or tips on how to decipher
these hieroglyphics with JFW. My guitar learning was all done in Spanish. So
I’m also trying to get used to the notes in English.

Thanks,
