[JAWS-Users] changing folders to list or detail view
Dear List: I updated from windows xp to windows ten. Now, how do I change a folder view to either a list view or a detail view? When I use window-eyes and go into my documents folder, window-eyes shows the file size and the date it was modified. However, when using Jaws, the same files in the documents folders will just give the name. So, how do I change it to a list or detail view when using Jaws? Thanks. Dear List: I am new to using amazon.com. From an AccessWorld article, I understand there is a more accessible version of amazon.com. I went to what I believe is the accessible site but I cannot tell the difference between the two. How can I tell if I have the accessible version? Perhaps I have the wrong address. For those with Asus computers with Jaws delay. I had the same problem with my Asus laptop. I had Microsoft reload the latest speaker/sound drivers and it took care of the problem. However, each time there is a Windows update, the delay re-occurs and so you have to reload the drivers again. [JAWS-Users] finding sender's email address in outlook 2016
Dear List: I have windows ten, the latest jaws, and am using outlook 2016. I wrote down instructions to finding sender's email address from a previous posting, but it did not work for me. Here are the directions from the posting; what could I be doing wrong? 1. With the message highlighted but not opened, alt-enter to open properties. 2. Control-tab to get to the Details tab. (when I did this, nothing happened or was spoken). 3. Tab once to Internet Headers (email addresses). 4. Then up and down arrows to find your email address. Thanks for any ideas. [JAWS-Users] Trying To Get Detail ViewOr List View In Folders
Dear List: I have windows ten, Jaws 2018 and Microsoft Office 2016 and have started to use Jaws. First, within folders, how do I change the view to either list view or detail view, and how do I make all other folders conform to the same view as the changed folder? I could do it with Windows X P, but the same procedure is not working the same for me in Windows Ten with these upper and lower ribbons. I also tried to do this with the hot keys shift-control-5 and shift-control-6, but nothing happened. Thanks for any ideas on how to accomplish this. [JAWS-Users] Two Questions--update message and hot key
Dear List: I am using Windows Ten. When I turn on the computer, I get the message: Windows Update. Cant update. Click this message to fix. So, what steps do I take. The spacebar, arrows, and the enter key did not do anything. It must be some sort of a balloon pop up. Second: what is the hot key to get into my u s b drive e where I have some talking books? I can have cortana get me there, but none of my windows shortcut keys seemed to get me there. I know that this is a worn-out cliché, but thanks in advance for whomever replies. [JAWS-Users] Further Jaws Version Confusion
Dear List: It was mentioned on the list in one of the many "jaws version confusion" posts, that the latest jaws version is 2018.1712.54 When I did the control-insert-v from the jaws screen, it said my jaws was already at the latest update. Yet, my version is a slightly different number. It is 2018.1712.10.400 Would you please explain the difference. Thanks.
