[JAWS-Users] Almost accidentally installed Windows 10

2015-11-03 Thread Neil Towery
Hello Gang:

Currently using Windows 7 and latest JAWS 16.

I have updates set to automatically download. So, I wanted to check to see
what updates had downloaded.

So, I struck the windows key. In the search box, I typed: check for
updates. I struck enter, and was faced with a "Get started button." Dumb
me, I thought it meant get started looking at the updates that had been
automatically installed.

For some reason, at some point, I rooted jaws to the pc. Don't remember
why. I discovered that windows 10 was being downloaded. Found and selected
the stop download button.

So, it was that easy to screw up, and do something for which I am not
ready!! For those as dense as I am and not too tech savvy, be careful.

I went back and selected something other than "download automatically."
Probably, "download but let me decide what to install."

I am wandering around in unfamiliar territory.

Neil

Consider the snow flakes

Consider the snow flakes, as they fall, bright and beautiful one and all.
Watch the snowflakes as they fall, all are different, large and small
Look at the snowflakes as they fall, they are One of God's treasures,
created for all.
Consider Him, as the blizzard blows, let Him warm your heart, and give Him
your soul.
Take a walk with Him daily in the snow, pray and meditate on Him whenever
you go.

Remember, God loves you and I, trust in His salvation before you die.

No, you will need the latest Jaws 16 or Jaws 17, to use Windows 10.

I am finding that Google Chrome works best. IE is too slow, and Firefox
sometimes crashes, but Google Chrome works with all navigation keys and is
very stable, fast, and never crashes. Give Google Chrome a try and you will
be surprised how well it works with JAWS or NVDA.
