If you use Eudora, there is a search and replace plugin.  I believe I
got it from the JFWLITE web site.

  Hello Friends,
  You can always paste a messy message you might have received into a Word
  .doc file, then just hit Control H, which is Find and Replace use the
  greater sign to find, and leave the Replace blank.

  It will leave the message clean of those messy greater signs, and your
  recipients will appreciate it!
  I do it with about half the forwarded messages I in turn wish to forward.

  It only takes a couple of seconds!

I've seen these programs, but I never saw the need in installing another 
program when I could use the ones I already have to perform the same task.

  I've done this many times.  You can also do it in HJ Pad and NotePad as

Normally e cleaner works fine. However when everything is viewed as a cell 
it does not work. btw I am running windows home sp3 and jaws 10.
