Re: [JAWS-Users] How to quiet keys or announcements in jaws.

2014-09-14 Thread Steve
To quiet a key, go into settings manager with Insert-f2. Find the Settings
and open it. Find Keyboard treview and open it. Find key Labels and open
it; it is I think the fifth down in the list of eight.

Now, you can see all the different keyboard settings. Find return/enter and
check the box to mute it.

also how to shut jaws up temparly so that there is no speech but can

go to help open and go up to startup Wizard and run it tab to hotkey and
select what you want to hear. To closed jaws insert j and yes and to run it
if you are on desktop j will start it.

It's normal. The In Box is by default arranged by subject in ascending
date order. The View tab allows you to change the order of material in
your mailboxes as well as changing the mailbox arrangement from
ascending to descending. I like latest first so I've selected
descending (most recent at the top). I think that the changes are per
mailbox; you might have to repeat for your various mailboxes.

Use the layered keystroke Ins, space bar and s. Toggles on and off. I,
too, would like a less verbose JAWS at times. Suggest a Flexible JAWS
as the next innovation? This said, I don'twant a cumbersome JAWS,
either, one slow to react. In the JAWS settings Center (ins F2 you can
customize your verbosity settings at least somewhat.
