[JAWS-Users] jaws and office 2007
Having just upgraded from Office 2003 to office 2007, I find that the menu bar doesn't work the way I expect it to. The jaws help is unfortunately about as much use as a chocolate teapot, so can someone please explain it to me? [JAWS-Users] Jaws and office 2007.
I am using jaws 9. is using jaws with word 2007 like word 2003 are the key strokes the same. E.g. when you want to edit in a document or to save or correct. I am thinking of getting it. Is it totally different because of the ribbon bar?. [JAWS-Users] Jaws And Office 2007 Calendar
Hi all. I am currently using the latest build of Jaws 17 and Microsoft Office 2007 on a windows 10 computer. My issue is with the calendar in Outlook. When I try to move between the days with the left and right arrows, Jaws says nothing. However, the curser is moving from day to day. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, is there a way to fix it. Geoff For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and office 2007
I have been using Office 2007 since April and I still find the interface very frustrating. I know what I want to do, but I am not quite sure how to get there! I find myself checking the options available in the "applications" context menu for an easier way to perform the task. If you remember any keystrokes to bring up a dialog in previous versions, like Control 1 to format cells in Excel, it should still work. My daughter says that the new interface is pretty, easier, faster, and loves it! They introduced the multilevel "ribbon" concept. Freedom Scientific provides a fairly good explanation in DAISY training material on their site and through the "check for updates" feature. Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and office 2007
Hi Alex. For my own purpose, i have learned my self to navigate through the programs new menu structure. The menu persists now of two parts, an upper band, and a lower band. Press the alt key, to get to the upper band, and the program will remember where you left there at last, so you will get there again. Use the left or right arrow keys to find the menu you wants to open, and press the arrow down key once. Now you are on the lower band, and here you can tab through all the items that are on the band, and if it is a submenu, than press the spacebar to open the submmenu, and arrow down through the items in the submenu. It is a quit new way to navigate and act in the menu structure, but it is only a question about to learn it. You can still use ctrl+o to open a document, ctrl+s to save, and f12 to save as... Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and office 2007
Hi alex, I too had the same problem. As I wrote on the list a few months ago, I had a new laptop with vista home premium and office 2007. I decided I didn't want to learn to use the ribbon bar yet, but I suppose I will have too some day. for now, I've gonne back to xp proffessional and office 2003, and I will be staying with that combination as long as I can. If you want to down grade, I am not sure how you would go about doing that, because a friend of mine very kindly fixed things for me. good luck, from Andrew. - Original Message - From: "Alex Stone" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2008 7:37 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws and office 2007 Having just upgraded from Office 2003 to office 2007, I find that the menu bar doesn't work the way I expect it to. There's a learning curve, but if you can get the classic menu add in, it works just like 2003 does. I got the trial version the other day, it's cool! Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and office 2007
Microsoft created a worksheet consisting of 52 individual sheets that show how commands were performed in Word 2003 and how to perform them in Word 2007. Commands available in menus and all toolbars in Word 2003 are included. You might like to use it as a way to quickly find how to do specific tasks in Word 2007. For example, if you open the spreadsheet and use CTRL-Shift-S to list all the sheets, you can then press the letter F four times until you find the sheet that lists all the commands for the forms toolbar. Of course, pressing enter on the choice opens the specific sheet. In that sheet, one column shows how you picked a certain tool from the forms toolbar in Word 2003, and another column shows how to do it in Word 2007. If you are interested in this Excel file I can send it to you. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and office 2007
Hello jeffrey. Did you know that you don't have to upgrade to office 2007 if you don't want to. That's right there is a free downloadable patch to run office 2007 doccuments in office 2003 without changing to the complete office 2007. The patch is a free download and the great thing is you can still use the commands to open office 2007 doccuments with office 2003 without changing anything. The office 2003 stays the same and when you download the patch to open office 2007 doccuments nothing changes. Lot of people don't know that but you can do it. Patti Microsoft created a worksheet consisting of 52 individual sheets that show how commands were performed in Word 2003 and how to perform them in Word 2007. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws And Office 2007 Calendar
I had this problem. In order to fix it you need to make a change in the regional and language settings. I don't remember the date format that jaws requires. You can play with it. I have the short date format as m/d/ and weirdly the long date format is ,mm dd,. You can try playing with it until you can get jaws to announce the date as you arrow through.
