Hi, If you're using firefox, the option to enable javascript is in tools, options, content. If you're using Internet Exploder... Not sure. Re: [JAWS-Users] Java and Adobe
There is a vast difference between Java and JavaScript. To get a true Java runtime you have to go to java.sun.com, and download the Java SE runtime, and the Java Access Bridge to allow JAWS to read all the controls. Good luck, I never could get that to work correctly! Microsoft has a basic Java runtime installed by default, but there is a lot of sites that demand the Sun version. JavaScript support is built into IE and Firefox, and you just need to make sure that the browser settings allow the JavaScript to run. In Internet Explorer, I believe that the settings can be found as follows: Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Use Control + Tab to get to the Security page. The Internet zone should be selected and Tab to the Custom Level button and press the Space bar. There will be a tree control of the various potential security risks, such as downloads, ActiveX controls and scripting. Arrowing down through the tree and pressing the space bar if you find something you want to change will set that behavior. There seem to be several references to scripts or script applets in the list. All of mine are enabled. I think Microsoft includes JavaScript in the general category of scripts? Someone let me know if I am off base on this.
