[JAWS-Users] Jaws 10 and no links in IE7 or IE8
Hello list I have a client using Windows XP and Jaws and when he surfs the net he gets no link on every web he visits. I logged in and checked and also checked his Outlook Express and Jaws can see the links in emails but not in IE. I uninstalled IE8 and rolled back to IE7 to see if this was the problem and it was the same. Just to check I used my pc to go to the same site he was having problems with and Jaws read fine and picked up all the links so on his I tried another website, it was at this point I found out that it was all websites were showing no links even though you can see there is. Has anyone any idea why and what settings he could have changed? I have to say though if he is on the computer he might leave the pc and his kids will go to the keyboard and press any keys thinking it's a bit of fun as they are not young enough to realise what they are doing, and no matter how much I tell him he just will not keep his young children away from the pc! All help greatly appreciated! HTH Larry Elliot GD (Guide Dog) For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 10 and no links in IE7 or IE8
Hi Larry, In all honesty, if he is not willing to keep his children away from his computer, he will most likely experience problems. At least, he could use keyboard help, to lock the keyboard, so-to-speak, that way, when he is away from it, any keystrokes pressed will not invoke any actions. It sounds like Jaws needs to be re-configured for IE. Go into the configuration manager, and check the html settings. Sounds like they messed up the scripts for IE. Would do a repair on jaws Then turn on the screen saver for password. That way when he walks away it locks and keeps things as is. He can set up a pass word, and when he is away from his computer he can lock it by pressing the key combination windows key l. He can log in again using his pass word. This would solve the problem. - Original Message - From: Rick Justice ricjust...@jaws-users.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, May 31, 2010 2:07 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 10 and no links in IE7 or IE8 Hi Larry, In all honesty, if he is not willing to keep his children away from his computer, he will most likely experience problems.
