So long as it pertains to JAWS. I don't recall JAWS working on an old typewriter or key punch system. You took that line out of context, by doing that the guidelines mean nothing. If you press tab, you will be in the choices for that ribbon. The tab key, in my opinion, is the most reliable way to move from item to item on the lower ribbon. Control right and left arrow is supposed to move you from group to group on the ribbon so that you can move through the choices faster. You also have accelerators that will let you press a s
