Re: [JAWS-Users] Keyboard Descriptions, was: Putting Programs on Desktop

Is it actually a laptop. If so, there should be a key on the left next
to the control key which is the function key. The home key would be
function and left arrow pressed in unison. Hope that helps.

Are you absolutely sure that you do not have a Windows key and an
applications key. I'm using an 88 key keyboard on my Del and I have both
keys. I do know that the IBM laptop does not have a Windows key, but I
think I remember a discussion not to long ago on how to deal with this.
Sorry to say, that I did not pay much attention to that subject line.

Have you tried investigating your keyboard with the JAWS Keyboard Help
command? Use Insert 1 (that is the number 1 on the number row) to turn
 on
keyboard help. Now you can press keys and hear what they are. When you
press the application key, JAWS will announce application. When you
 press
the Windows key, JAWS will not say anything. However, when you find a
 key
that does not say anything, just combine it with another key like the
 letter
 M. In this case you would hear JAWS say Windows M. To get out of
Keyboard help, just repeat the Insert+1 command.

Another key it might be is a function only speciffic to the sighted world.
When my battery took a dive, we had to reset the sytem and the tech told me
to hit that key and I needed my brother to read the screen after I did so.
I have a del as well so maybe that might help. my applications was tricky
but it's to the right of my power button just before the print screen
scrolllock and things like that. Hope I helped somewhat but they're right,
thy that help ke as well.
