[JAWS-Users] Magic and Jaws

2018-02-21 Thread DGH

Can anyone tell me what version of Jaws works with version 10 of Magic?

I have a client that has Jaws 15 and is authorized for Magic 10 but I get a
message that says this version of Magic only works with an earlier version
of Jaws.

I realize that these are old versions but this is all she has.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe there was a MAGic 10.5. I know that you need about JAWS 10
to work with MAGic 11, so working backwards, you would need a version
of JAWS prior to version 10. Considering that JAWS version 11 was the
first version to support Windows 7, I would hope that the client is
using Windows XP, but I would recommend that they consider upgrading.
If they are in the United States, they can try Computers for the Blind
which can be accessed at https://www.computersfortheblind.net/ If
Computers for the Blind is not a satisfactory solution, I would
suggest NVDA as a better option than using a version of JAWS produced
more than ten years ago.
