Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about restoring the my documents iconback todesktop.

2007-09-22 Thread Dale Leavens
Why won't he find it in the recycle bin?

I just did it here using XP Pro and that is exactly where it went.

Hi, you will not find this in the Recycle Bin. To restore it therefore, you
have to find the my documents item from within the start menu, press the
applications key to open the context menu, and press enter on show on
desktop. Please note this method will only work if you're using the XP
layout, otherwise you'll have to look in Folder options and press space on
show my documents on the desktop. Hope that helps.

Hi Albert and others,
To restore the My documents icon to the desktop, do the following:
1. From the control panel, select, display.
2. Go to the desktop tab, and then tab to the customize desktop button, and
spacebar that.
3. Here you have 2 options, either restore to the defaults, or select the My
documents , icon 3 state button, and spacebar that.
4. Tab to the okay button, and spacebar that, then the apply button,
spacebar that, and then press enter to close the dialogue.
You are done.
Note:
The My documents folder, cannot be deleted, because it is a system folder.
The desktop icon for My documents can be deleted, since it is only a
shortcut.
The icon will not show up in the recycle bin, since when you delete it, in
effect
you are only de-selecting the 3-state button in the display settings.
