Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Text in Word
Hi there. This may sound silly but I used it when I was studying for tests. There may be a more technical way to do this. But all I did was insert a label which was unique to the surrounding text. I used *here, 02-03-2007* for example. That kind of string wouldn't appear in a normal text file so then all I had to do was use the Word Find function to locate that label. It worked quickly and reliably every time. After locating the label, I just deleted it and then inserted another one where needed. Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Text in Word
I think there might be a bookmarking function in Word, but don't ask me how to use it. I have a very non-technical solution. When I want a mark a document so I can return to it later, I simply put in the string qqq. When I return to the document I do a find for qqq, and there it is. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of John Justice Sent: Friday, September 14, 2007 3:56 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Text in Word Hi there. Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Text in Word
Hi, Try this and see if it will work in your JAWS version. To bookmark your text: activate insert menu, Alt+I press K, and it should say bookmark edit type in your desired word to bookmark, press enter and save. To find your bookmark: activate insert menu, then press K, and it should announce the bookmarked word, press Enter and you will land to where you stopped last. To delete your bookmark: activate insert menu, press K, press tab to delete button press enter twice and save. Estelita - Original Message - From: Russell J. Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Text in Word
There's a short way to place a bookmark. I press ctrl.+shift+f5 and follow the instructions that Denny Huff gave you. You can use the same shortcut to search through your bookmarks, instead of pressing ctrl+g and go to bookmarks. This key combination works in word 2003. I always use some unusual combination of characters, such as three braquets or braces to mark my text before closing. I then use the control F to find those characters. Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Text in Word
Placemarkers can't be used in Word, but you can use bookmarks. To insert a bookmark, first place your cursor where you want the bookmark. Next do an alt t for tools, then the letter K for bookmarks. This will bring up a dialogue for you to enter a bookmark name. Type in the name of the bookmark, don't use spaces in the bookmark name. Tab to, add and press enter. To find the bookmark, do a control g for go to. Shift tab one time and arrow down to, bookmark and press enter. Arrow down to the bookmark you want and press enter.
