Hi

I have added a new computer running Windows 8.1 to my home network. it is
using JAWS 15. Am I having fun? I am trying to set up certain folders on
the Windows 8.1 machine to be shared by the rest of the network, which runs
Windows XP and Windows 7. I have gone into advanced sharing in the
property's for each folder and set them to be shared and their sharing
permissions. I turned on the discovery setting and configured the firewall
to allow sharing. But when I attempt to access one of them from Windows XP
or 7, I receive the following message.
Network Error
Windows cannot access \\xxx2\Public documents
You do not have permission to access \\xxx\Public documents. Contact your
network administrator to request access.
For more information about permissions, see Windows Help and Support

In the network sharing settings, found from the start screen, I see that the
wireless network displays as a public network. I have read that it needs to
be changed to home. I have not been able to find any way to change the
network from Public to Home using JAWS and the keyboard. How can I change
the network from public to home. Is there anything else I am missing to
allow the windows 8 folders to be shared?

Thanks.
