[JAWS-Users] Thank you all for your help

2013-12-28 Thread David Ingram
Thank you for your help!Thank you to everyone who answered my question. I
just want to make sure that I have this information correct. chkdsk /f /r. Is
there something that I'm missing like the drive that I want to do this on? It
probably should look like this chkdsk /c /f /r right!

If you are wanting to check the C drive there is nothing else you need to
include. Just press the Windows key plus r and type that command line in.
You'll receive a message that says something like, Windows can't perform
this operation at this time. All you need to do is to type the letter, Y
and press enter. Then restart your PC. It will take a longer time for your
PC to restart but don't panic, it will eventually restart.
If you want to check a different drive other than your C drive, when you
press the Windows key plus r, type in, driveLetter: chkdsk /f /r. For
example if you want to check the E drive type in, e: chkdsk /f /r and press
enter. You won't need to reboot for this check, it will begin immediately.

Hi David,

Your syntax should look like the line below, I believe. I'm not positive
but, I think you need to put a colon after the drive letter.

chkdsk DriveLetter: /f /r

Take care.

Chkdsk C: /f /r

Read the above line carefully.
