Re: [JAWS-Users] can you read me?

2016-10-24 Thread John Fitzgerald
Hi Mike,

Thanks for the attempt. I followed your instructions to no avail. They
lead me to the same place that I visited last night, with the same results.
When I put recent: in front of my email address and clicked on test account
settings I got an error both times.

Hi

Outlook 2010 uses the ribbons instead of menus, so there is no Tools menu as
such. While in Outlook 2010, press alt+f to open the back stage view. Then
press tab 3 times to get to Modify account settings for this account and
then press enter. Then press enter on account settings. Tab until you
reach your list of accounts and highlight your Gmail account. Press alt+a
to open the change dialog. Then tab to your address and add the recent: at
the beginning. Tab to the OK button and press enter.

  Hi Andy,

You can try the following in Gmail to see if this will get you a copy of
  your posts:

Assuming you're using a standard e-mail client like Outlook Express or
Outlook, open up the tools menu, then arrow down to accounts and press
  enter.

Once in the dialog box, highlight your Gmail account, and tab to the
properties button, and press the spacebar.

You should be on the General Tab. Now, tab down to the e-mail address
edit
  field.

In that field, type the word recent with a colon before your e-mail
address.

So, if you're typing this information into your e-mail field, you would
type
  in:

  recent:dwmaster...@gmail.com

Tab down to the apply button, press the spacebar, then shift+tab back to
the
ok button and press the spacebar.

You'll land back on the accounts dialog box, at which point, you tab to
the
close button, then press the spacebar again.

The next time you send and receive your messages, you'll receive each and
every message you ever sent via Gmail, so be prepared to get a flood of
  e-mails once you do this.

  Take care.

I don't use Gmail, but I just checked Outlook 2010. I believe you'll find the
equivalent to the Tools menu with the following steps:

Alt-f
Arrow down to "Info tab."
Tab. The first item that you tab to lists your current email accounts. You'll
probably be able to figure out from there when to start following Mike's
instructions.

enter.

Once in the dialog box, highlight your Gmail account, and tab to the
properties button, and press the spacebar.

You should be on the General Tab. Now, tab down to the e-mail address edit
field.

In that field, type the word recent with a colon before your e-mail address.

So, if you're typing this information into your e-mail field, you would type
in:

recent:dwmaster...@gmail.com

Tab down to the apply button, press the spacebar, then shift+tab back to the
ok button and press the spacebar.

You'll land back on the accounts dialog box, at which point, you tab to the
close button, then press the spacebar again.

The next time you send and receive your messages, you'll receive each and
every message you ever sent via Gmail, so be prepared to get a flood of
e-mails once you do this.

Take care.

2016-10-23 Thread Scorpio
Gino, you should do this if you use an e-mail client like Thunderbird,
Outlook, all variants, Outlook Express, now Windows Mail/Windows Live mail.

You do not need to do this on the website if you check your mail via the
internet.

So Mike, curious me, do you do this, Me With Windows 7, Outlook
office-E-mail and do I do this just in Outlook in the accounts on all three
G-mail accounts and do I have to do it up on The G-mail site with my account
there too?

Now, tab down

Re: [JAWS-Users] can you read me?

2016-10-23 Thread Scorpio
Unfortunately this is a bug in Gmail accounts. For some reason, when
sending to an e-mail list, your messages don't come back.

You must put the word "recent", without the quotes, followed by a colon,
then your e-mail address when setting up your account with an email client.

In other words, in your e-mail client, your username should look like this:

recent:wellerandy1...@gmail.com

Then your password would remain the same.

Be prepared though, you'll receive every message you've sent thus far.

Good luck.

Yes, loud and clear here too. You are like me guessing as Bob said Gmail
account. I switched all three accounts from Road Runner as they won't play
nice. Though kept one account that I don't use, a dummy account. For this
group you won't get a copy. As well if you belong to the blind handy man
list you won't either Gene/Geno in Portland, ME.
