Has anyone used this with JAWS to see how easy or not so easy it is to use? If you are here in England UK, you can find its information at: www.firebox.com or you might find information where to find in US in case you reside there. They provide 30 days trial in case you don't like it, but haven't got chance to try it yet, so if you decide, let me know how it works. Yes, that would be interesting to find out. If there are such programs out there, does anyone also know if any tutorials exist to use the software? if it exists that is. from Andrew - Original Message - From: "ralphie boy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2008 9:19 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] cassette to MP3 software/cassette deck > Hi, > > Is anyone aware of a software program, preferably that comes with a > cassette deck, to convert cassette tapes to MP3 files that works well with > JAWS? > > I have tapes dating to the early 70's and would love to convert them to > MP3. > > Jerry > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To post to this group, send email to > jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Use the following form in order to contact the management team > http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php > If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the > following address: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.22.1/1345 - Release Date: > 26/03/2008 6:50 PM > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [JAWS-Users] cassette to MP3 software/cassette deck
Hello There are many different solutions possible, some free, some shareware, and some commercial. I personally use the free CDEX program for this type of thing. You can set CDEX to record from analogue input under the tools menu. You simply select your sound card as the input device. Play your cassettes through your sound card by using a 3.5 plug to plug lead. Provided you can hear your cassettes through your speakers CDEX will record it. If you cannot hear your cassettes go to sound manager and uncheck any mute setting on line in. There is other software like Total Recorder through which you can specify line in etc as the source. however CDEX is free and I have found it very easy to use. Personally I find it easier than, for example, programs like the shareware GoldWave Which have masses more features and are certainly more powerful. I still use CDEX as my preferred recorder because it is so much easier and straightforward to use. You can set up CDEX to record in wav or MP3 format and when I last checked was on the Jaws User home page.
