Re: [JAWS-Users] how do I keep jaws from saying graphic all the time?

You're raising two problems that seem contradictory, as I'll explain.

First, you can change how JAWS announces graphics in the settings center (JAWS
key+6 on the number row above the letters). When the settings center opens,
press shift-control-d to make your choice the default across all applications,
then type "graphics" into the edit field, which will be in focus when you open
the settings center. Arrow down to the graphics option, then press spacebar to
cycle through the options, tab to confirm.

Note. If you want graphics suppressed in only one application, such as IE,
first open that application, keep focus there and open the settings center.
Obviously, don't press shift-control-d.

The reason I suggest your queries seem contradictory is that you won't know
which graphics to label if JAWS doesn't announce them. In any event, the
graphics labeler is JAWS key+g.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] how do I keep jaws from saying graphic all the time?

Hi,
I guess I need to be reintroduced to the graphics area of jaws, and would
really like it if you can tell me how to keep jaws from saying graphic all the
time, and tell me if you would how to label a graphic once I'm sure what it is.
thanks,
Bill K.
