[JAWS-Users] more info from jaws?

2008-12-08 Thread Rangs?, the Rascat?
Hey there.
How can I set jaws up so that, when I highlight a file, folder or, a track I
can get more info on it? E.G., the length & bit rate of a track. a folder and
what's partially contained there, within. I did have it set that way once, but
have now lost the instructions on how to set it up again.
I'm using jaws 9.
Thanks & cheers,
Rangs the rascat,

To get this information, you first need to enable the status bar.

To do this, in any folder view, go to the view menu with alt+V, then arrow
down to status bar and hit enter.

If you see a check mark there already, then that means you've already got it
activated, but either way, once you have it activated, press insert+page
down to here the status bar contents.

Hope this helps.

Um, no, it kind of goes like this.
Whatever I put the cursor on, whether it was a folder, a track, even a program, I would
automatically be given all the info about it. Whether I wanted it or not. So if I went to my
desktop and put the cursor on JAWS, I would be then told,

"See program files or, freedom scientific".
In many cases I found this info to be extremely helpful. Otherwise I would just stop it with the
control key. I had a feeling I checked or unchecked, something in the jaws, configuration manager.
Um, I could be wrong.

Thanks for your help.

Go to the configuration manager, press ctrl+shift+d if you want this change
to be global, otherwise first go to an windows explorer window - in my
computer or my documents for example, and start the manager from there. When
you do, alt+s for set options menu, v for verbosity options, than go to the
button of the verbosity level you are use the most and space on it. Go to
the end of list of options and check the tool option. Ok twice and ctrl+s to
save the changes. If you don't want to hear always this information, just
