[JAWS-Users] reading file extentions

2009-01-29 Thread Rachel Magario

Hello listers,

My jaws used to say the name of a file and dot whatever was after like dot
doc or dot PDF or dot HTML.

I had to reinstall jaws and now it won't read what extention the file has.
Does anyone how to do that?
I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Happy 2009!
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
Here are some steps to get JAWS to read file extentions.
1. Go to Control Pannel.
2. Go to Folder Options.
3. Press Control Tab to get to the View Tab.
4. Tab until you get to the Tree View.
5. Keep pressing down arrow until you get to "Hide extentions for known file
types." If it is on, press the Spacebar to turn it off.
Hope this helps,
Janelle
