[JAWS-Users] removing an old version of jaws

2007-09-10 Thread Lisa
Hello everyone,
I am considering removing from my computer a very old version of jaws that I
don't use any more. Would I uninstall it the same as i would any other
program? Someone told me that it would ask do you want to remove shared files,
and I was told to say no to this. Is that correct? I have openbook on my
computer, and jaws 6. I want to remove jaws 4.02 from my computer. Any help
with this would be greatly appreciated!
Take care,
Lisa

You definitely want to say no to remove shared components.

I'll have to disagree with you on this. It may not cause any problems with
your system, but Removing the shared components can cause big problems with
Jaws.

If you are also using Open Book, you should definitely leave the shared
files on your system.

Also, if you remove shared components, you won't be able to merge
settings from an older version of JAWS.

Lisa, since you're using another Freedom Scientific product (OpenBook),
definitely don't remove shared components. Doing so will result in a
malfunction of OpenBook that may require reinstallation. Hope that helps.
