[JAWS-Users] talking clock

2010-09-16 Thread angelina stabile
Good afternoon, I have the talking clock with the chimes. Not the aph clock. I
checked off all of the boxes to announce the time. It was working but now it
just plays the chimes and does not say the time. How do I make it talk?
Thanks Angelina Stabile

Hi all,
I am trialling Steve's Talking Clock and I think I'm going to buy it.
Love the voice and sounds that come with the program, plus the voices
are customizable. You can try it free for 15 days from
http://clock.steve-audio.net.

Enjoy!

From the Start Menu, select Talking Desktop Clock Options under

Make sure the appropriate time interval check boxes are checked.

Be sure

to select Use Microsoft Speech as your default speech option.

From the Start Menu, select Talking Desktop Clock Options under the Talking
Desktop Clock menu. Then select Speech from the TDC View menu. Make sure
the appropriate time interval check boxes are checked. Be sure to select
Use Microsoft Speech as your default speech option. If you don't have SAPI
5 voices on your system, the default voice will be Microsoft SAM. Finally,
make sure the starting and ending times are set. You have to use the up and
down arrow keys and the numpad 5 key to hear JAWS announce the contents of
these list boxes. Be sure to preview the selected voice. HTH.

I have the talking desk top clock installed if that clarifies things a
little. Among the SAPI 5 voices which may have come with Jaws, I am not
quite sure about this, there is a Paullina voice. This voice showed up in
the choices given me among the voices I had to choose from when I chose the
voice to tell me the time. Voila, my clock speaks the time in Spanish.
