Yes, this is true and if you are shipping FedEx the email track address is: tr...@fedex.com I often use FedEx and one of the things I don't like about these email tracker things is that I used to be able to click things about which I wanted to be notified, picked up, delivery problems and delivered. Now I have to send several emails throughout the day to get the same information. You can also usually paste a UPS or FedEx tracking # into the search box on your browser and get the same results. I have tried this, but it doesn't always work. I would either receive alerts about changes in tracking status long after the change or no message at all. For instance, I received a message that a shipment I was expecting was out for delivery which meant that it was scheduled for delivery that day. Unfortunately, I received this message after the delivery was actually made. What I do now is just go to UPS.com and periodically refresh this window throuout the day to get the most up-to-date tracking status. This way, I know exactly when my shipment will be delivered without the vagaries of email. You can go to the site for UPS and Canada Post and select a Check Box to have them send you e-mail notifications automatically. Yesterday I emailed 2 different tracking numbers and the information I received back via the email was more informative / accurate than the response I received than the information I got by calling UPS telling the automated system the tracking numbers.
