[JAWS-Users] you need to activate windows

it sounds like you went into the configuration of your windows maybe and did you change something in there? How many days do you have left? I think it's 3. Also, what version of Windows are you using? Because on one of them you just won't be able to log in, simple as. Hardware changes can affect your Windows activations. If you really can't get the serial number, there's two things. One is to scan the serial number in and do an OCR, or two get sighted assistance. Thankfully, if you have a Vista DVD you can install it without a product key and run Vista for up to 30 (30) days so you can purchase a product key later on, as well as affectively trialling Vista. This goes for all versions.
