Hi Mario,

Yes,that is correct. That's why I pasted both lines of the link into
Notepad, removed the break, to make 1 line out of that 2 line link. Then,
the link worked.
Take care.

when I tried, in addition to the less than and greater than chars, I
also noticed there was a break before the /j17exe.

Hi Ed,

Look at the link as it appears in your post to the list. It wraps to a 2nd
line, & less & greater than signs need to be removed.
Take care.

Hi Group,
Now why would that link work if I send it to myself but If I send it to the
group list it does not work and there are two more lines there that are not
on the email I sent to myself. I think I will have to go back to the
school of hard knocks.

Hi Group,

I not sure I totally understand the issue with copying and pasting a link. I
went to the FS site and copied the link and pasted it into an email. Then I
sent the email to myself and was able to click on the link. I just pasted
the link to this email below by just highlighting the link with the
shift+right arrow key until it was all highlighted then I just press the
ctrl+C and then came to this email and ctrl+v. I know you all know these
commands. Now I am going to send this email to the list and see if it works.
It worked when I sent it to myself. So here goes.

Nope, it didn't come through as a link. Here's what you have:

<ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/JAWS/17180468DA9E

Notice the superfluous < "less" sign at the beginning? There must be no
characters in the link other than those that appear in the URL. Here's the
same text but without the < sign. Let's see if this comes out as a link:

ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/JAWS/17180468DA9E

Hi Ed,

Yes it will work with a little effort. The link wraps to another line, & it
has a, less than symbol, at the beginning, & a, greater than symbol, at the
end, which both need to be removed. to make the link work I copied both
lines into Notepad, edited the 2 lines to make 1 line, removed the less &
greater than symbols, copied the whole link, pasted it into the Run
dialogue, & was able to download.
Take care.
