Hi Margaret.

Eloquence it is. There is also a Vocalizer voice. How can I

tell which voices (persons) they are. is there more than the one
Vocalizer voice?

The Vocalizer voices will be named Tom, Samantha, Jill, Nathan, Zoe,
Alison and Susan. They also sound much clearer than any synthesized
speech such as Eloquence, which I never use anymore.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Finding Out Which Synthesizer and Voice I'm Using

2018-05-06 Thread Mike B.
Hi Margaret,

To find the Eloquence voices try the following:
1. Open the Jaws context menues, Insert / Jaws key + J, press enter on,
Options, arrow down to Voices, press enter, and press enter on Voice
Adjustment.

2. You should be on, Profile Name, make sure Eloquence is highlighted, and
tab 4 times to, Voice Adjust All Contexts.

3. Arrow down this list to see what all you can assign voices to. You'll
have the PC Cursor Voice, Jaws Cursor Voice, Keyboard Voice, & Tutor and
Message Voice options.
For the list of voice options tab 1 time into a list of available voices for
Eloquence for each of these options.

4. Continue tabbing through each of the options dialogue boxes to see your
other voice settings.

If you make changes, apply them to each voice, & press okay to save and
close when you're finished. I'm sorry for not being very thorough, but this
is a rather hard area to explain without typing until Memorial Day! LOL

Just tab around and see what all is there to kind of get acclamated to all
the dialogues, and you being a very sharp young lady will get an excellent
feel as to what they're all about.

Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

I'm not finding a person combo box for either Eloquence or Vocalizer.

I found a page on the FS/VFO site to download the Vocalizer voices for J

nice to have before downloading.

Press together the three keys control+JAWS key+s. JAWS will verbalize the
currently running synthesizer. Make a mental note of it, then arrow up and
down to see if you have others running on your system. Be sure to return
focus to the original line before escaping out of the dialog, unless you
mean to change synthesizers.

If you have never changed anything with respect to this, you are indeed
likely using Eloquence. You can check by going to the JAWS options menu
(jaws key + j), and moving to "voice settings". In this dialog you will see

pitch, which is controllable in Eloquence but not the newer vocalizer
synthesizer, which uses actual voice samples.
