Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws iTunes
Itunes has been very jaws friendly since version 10 and up. You can use the tab key to get around, and even put your searches in a list view by using F6. Jonathan Mosen does a great pod cast on Itunes with jaws. You can find the direct link for this podcast here http://www.freedomscientific.com/FSCast/default.asp This should tell you all you want to know. It's 2 parts, and part 2 will be released this month. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Dale Leavens Sent: Sunday, December 26, 2010 8:42 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws iTunes Although I can't find my Jaws 10 and 11 CDs so am using 9 which also does not play well with iTunes, and so can't help you, I can share your frustration! Wouldn't you think sometime between about Jaws 7 and now someone would have made iTunes accessible and easy to use? Either Apple maybe with an alternate logically organized and simplified site or maybe Freedom Scientific working with the current site? We have a simplified already accessible search engine like google by means of the Research feature which is already about as accessible as a Web site can be but are left unable to use something like iTunes, something one might expect a lot of blind people with a full spectrum of computer skills to want to access. Can they be collaborating with Apple to drive us from Microsoft and Windows or maybe to change over to another screen reader? Surely not! What ever the business strategy might be isn't obvious to me at least but I think I am beginning to get some sense of it. If you do find an answer please share it with the rest of us. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws iTunes
Best way to use it with jaws is tab key, don't even bother with cursors. As far as using it for playing and moving content around it handles that just fine. Its one of those apps you have to study a bit, because it won't spoon feed you like most apps. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws iTunes
Dale, I have since heard there are scripts written by a company. I have also heard they are expensive. I would rather spend money on more woodworking tools than scripts. I will try NVDA if I don't get an answer here. Max. Hi, Max, Blindcooltech.com has podcasts about all sorts of things. the one I listened to twice today, before downloading a couple of aps, was 'itunes with a screen reader'. Here is the direct address http://media.libsyn.com/media/bct/bct1493iTunesWithAScreenReader.mp3 At 09:06 PM 12/26/2010, you wrote: Thanks Ann, could you give a little more information?
