Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft called me for virus
Hi all, An Indian woman called my phone today and no valid caller id. She wanted me to type the following in run dialog, event viewer eventvwr I began but then gave the phone to my husband. We could not understand what they were saying. I asked how she got my phone number, international files. Anybody know about this and what exactly is it? Unsure if a scam or not. But now I'll run Malware bytes and then MSE. Ann For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

This is a classic scam that Microsoft has warned customers about for years. Any time you receive an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be from MS or Verizon or any other tech company speaking with a foreign accent, hang up immediately. + same thing happened to me a while ago. I told this before. They called me one day and said I had to buy this package from them because my computer was going to crash any time. I told them I had four computers in this house and that I didn't have the authority to do that. They called three or four more times and then stopped. I think it was a big scam to get information. They said I could buy a package for each computer and fix them all. After about five days they stopped calling me. Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft called me for virus
Hi all, I just called Microsoft help line for people with disabilities at 1 800 936 5900 The event viewer shows error all over your computer. I asked if they could have penetrated my computer and he said no. Most likely they were looking for me to buy their software to fix all my fatal and minimum problems on my PC. I did google it and it states a scam. I am surprised that they would target me because I am using XP. I don't think they will call again. Thanks for all your responses. If they call again, I'll ask for her phone number and I will call her back. Click most likely will be the answer. I did run MSE and Malware Bytes and no problems. Have a great day.
