With “Just Write Checks” you can go to the check writing function and just
type in the date, pay to, dollar amount and memo without entering any
other information. I use JWC just to print checks. I don’t use it to
track balances or accounts etc. Ibought preprinted checks with the bank
info already printed on them.

Considering the areas to be filled in on checks can vary somewhat in
location on the check, do you need a particular setup so they will print out
correctly?

I have been using a free download called "Just Write Checks". You can
enter your information and print a check without having to assign account
numbers or bank balances. It is good for just getting a check printed

American Printing House for the Blind sells MoneyTalks.

It is a money management program that self-voices, or you can buy the
version that works with a screen reader. It has a template wherein you can
adjust the fields for printing checks. You can also download and reconcile
your bank statements directly into the program.

It works totally with Jaws.

Blank Checks can be purchased at a good price from either Amazon or eBay,
and they come in a 3 per sheet or one per sheet configuration. The 3 per
sheet is a more economical way to go in my opinion, as the 1 per sheet wast
a lot of paper. They are also available in pre printed or blank styles, the
preprinted like a check straight out of a checkbook from a bank could be
filled out by pen, while the blank ones are just that, blank and all
information has to be printed onto them. The app that I use also puts the
banks logo onto the checks. This is an iphone app called "Print Checks". I
could not locate an accessible check printing software for my PC at the
time.

I use Talkine checkbook from Reading Made Easy. I've used it for years now
and it is an excellent program.

You do have to purchase larger checks for this program, but for me, it's
worth the cost to be independent in check writing.
