Re: [JAWS-Users] appending the clipboard vs. saving a document

2014-04-03 Thread shoshana hathaway
Hi Mike and all,

First, let me introduce myself, as I am a new member to this list, though
I've been using JAWS for well over um 15? Years. Think I started with JAWS
3 or so, and now have 14 on my PC. (BTW anyone want to comment on 15?)

I do have a question about appending to the clipboard. I can see uses for
that, especially when gathering several links that I want to attach to an
email or a word document. This is the first time I have even heard of this
feature, so is the keyboard command a Windows key stroke or a JAWS
keystroke? Once I know that, I can search around in various help files and
likely find it, but I'd as soon narrow that search just a bit, if I can.

Thanks for any direction,
Shoshana

hello;

the apend to clipboard is a jaws keystroke;

windows-key+insert+c,
note, if you hear insert included in a keystroke, you can almost garuranty,
that it's a jaws keystroke.

Hi Judy,

Let's say that there were several emails pertaining to this thread that you
would like to save. You would copy the info out of the 1st email then, you
go to the next email instead of copying you use the append to clipboard
keystroke. You keep using the append feature until you have finished
copying / editing the various emails now you have several pieces of info
on the clipboard that you can paste into an email, text file, or Word Doc
name it as you want for personal use. I use the append feature a lot, I
do mean a lot, when saving notes on many various subjects. I have an
excellent filing system but, my retrieval ability, sucks! LOL, hahaha
hahaha hahaha, LOL
Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] appending the clipboard vs saving a document

Hi, list, I have been reading all these posts about this topic with interest
over the last few days. In my ten years or so of using the computer I have
never heard of appending to the clipboard. My question is this, and I am
asking not to be critical, but to be educated. For myself, if I have
information to keep I will save it to a word document, or to the notepad,
and then go back and add to it if I need to, and delte things as I need to
by copying and pasting or selecting certain areas and deleting them. This
has served me well. In what circumstances would I want to use the append to
clipboard function where it would be better than what I am doing? Thanks in
advance. Judy Tallie
