Re: [JAWS-Users] off: antivirus
Ok, no anti-virus program is foolproof. In 2011, MSSE was probably the best-rated free anti-virus program and it performed on par or better than most of the commercial anti-virus programs. It doesn't have nag screens as some of the other free AV products do, and it is totally accessible, unlike Norton or McAfee. I think Trendmicro was pretty accessible, when I evaluated it, but that was three versions back. I just read an article by Fred Langda of Windows Secrets on MSSE. In summary, he stated that some readers had raised questions because one of the labs withdrew its certification for MSSE. He said he ran MSSE and compared it on some known malware with several other anti-virus programs, and MSSE has kept his machines clean. So, he still feels comfortable using it and does so on all his machines. - Original Message - From: Marilyn Walker mlw1...@sbcglobal.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, January 04, 2013 9:50 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] off: antivirus Eric, how did you know that it was mse that allowed the viruses to slip through or whatever?
