Never had anything come through, but then I don't
go to sites that keep bombing you with virus or
not scan any files that I get either on USB
drives, torrents or from sites including sendspace and dropbox.

Re: [JAWS-Users] off: antivirus

2013-01-05 Thread Steve
Ok, no anti-virus program is foolproof. In 2011, MSSE was probably the
best-rated free anti-virus program and it performed on par or better than
most of the commercial anti-virus programs. It doesn't have nag screens as
some of the other free AV products do, and it is totally accessible, unlike
Norton or McAfee. I think Trendmicro was pretty accessible, when I
evaluated it, but that was three versions back.

I just read an article by Fred Langda of Windows Secrets on MSSE. In
summary, he stated that some readers had raised questions because one of the
labs withdrew its certification for MSSE. He said he ran MSSE and compared
it on some known malware with several other anti-virus programs, and MSSE
has kept his machines clean. So, he still feels comfortable using it and
does so on all his machines.

2013-01-04 Thread Eric Carrillo
Because that's all I had at the time, a computer shop adviced me and said to
me that mse would cover it all and not to bother investing time and energy
in installing other thing. I haven't had trouble since I decided to not
depend on mse completely. I did try out a few other free things after that,
like AVG and others with similar results.

Re: [JAWS-Users] off: antivirus

2013-01-03 Thread tim
Try MSE from Microsoft. Has a small foot print,
works with any windows system, never have to pay,
and its more accessible then any other.
Most out there you have to use the mouse to get
any work out of it and they are always a pain when it comes to renewing.

Dear all!

What is better, what do you think, for blind users?
1. Symantec Endpoint Protection.
2. Avira internet Security, or Free Antivirus.
Why? Why this?
Please statistics, and thoughts too.
Thanks in advance.
