[JBoss-dev] [ jboss-Bugs-855935 ] 1:1 uni-dir rel requires local interface on both sides

Submitted By: Martin Alley (jtemple0)
Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody)
Summary: 1:1 uni-dir rel requires local interface on both sides

Initial Comment:
It's either a bug in JBoss 3.2.2 or the Oreilly workbook
for JBoss.

Ex06_3 of workbook Titan-JBoss-3.2-12d from
http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/entjbeans3/workbooks/in
dex.html fails to deploy
org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentException:
CustomerEJB has no local home interface

The setup is
customer:homeAddress(1)address:id(1)

Address has a local interface, but it would appear there
is no need for Customer to have one - the relationship is
uni-directional.

I know something similar (the same) was discussed at
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?
group_id=22866atid=376685func=detailaid=544778

but it still looks like a bug somewhere to me.

If it is deemed a bug in the workbook example, perhaps
someone could provide a working 1:1 unidirectional
example.

Many Thanks
Martin

Re: [JBoss-dev] RE: management/administration GUI projects

2003-12-18 Thread Bill Burke
Who exactly is working on this? Sacha? Somebody named Russ? What
exactly is going on? Can we push for this integration with web-console?

Thanks,

BIll

Hello Russ,

I have added two nodes under J2EE Resources/LocalJMS.
These are 'Queues' and 'Topics', and I have obtained the
queues for now to display under the 'Queues' node.
Clicking on a queue resource brings up a jsp page.
I am at the point of doing the viewing of JMS Messages in a queue
on this page.
Great!

(Adrian in CC)

And jboss-dev. :-)

Just wanted to know if I am allowed to change the relevant classes in
the other projects (in this case messaging):
e.g. org.jboss.mq.server.jmx.Queue so I could get access to the
underlying JMSQueue, to 'browse' the SpyMessages.
Adrian, what do you think? Is that the best way? Or would it be better to
extend the JBoss JSR-77 objects?

There is already a
public SpyMessage[] browse(String selector)
on org.jboss.mq.server.JMSQueue
it isn't exposed on the MBeanServer via
org.jboss.mq.server.jmx.Queue

Also if you have any input on what should be seen for the Queue and
Destination pages, for each message, stats, functionality and so on.
Adrian, do we have any stats? Such as concurrent dispatched messages, number
of processed messages, mean-processing time (for MDB for example), etc. I
think we should check if we can apply some of the standard SLSB statistics
to quques and topics as well.

There are already stats exposed on the server/queue/topic/subscription
using the MBeanCounter java bean.
If you want invocations times you would need to add a JMS interceptor
to the chain, but these would represent invocation times
of jbossmq's internal protocol rather than the jms interfaces.
Regards,
Adrian

Cheers,

[JBoss-dev] [ jboss-Patches-862668 ] Patch for [ 608729 ] Deployment fails if no env-entry-value

2003-12-18 Thread SourceForge.net
Patches item #862668, was opened at 2003-12-19 02:55

Summary: Patch for [ 608729 ] Deployment fails if no env-entry-value

Initial Comment:
I am working for clearing bug [608729 ] Deployment fails
if no env-entry-value. And I almost fixed that bug, but
it still has some problem.

When you take a moment to see bug #608729, It's
meaning is about that env-entry-value tag is optional in
dtd, but when deploying a sessionbean without defining
env-entry-value but dedined env-entry-name and env-
entry-type, jboss will throw deploymentexception.
now, i can fix this error, make the result as when env-
entry-type equals java.lang.String, i can put a default
String object in jndi context through new String(), but if
the env-entry-type equals to java.lang.Double or some
other as java.lang.Integer, i can't generate a default
Double object without a init value, should i generate a
default double object with default value zero(0)?

Now I can't make a decide, if you think that if a session
bean' ejb-jar.xml has not assigned env-entry-value
when env-entry-value is java.lang.Double or any other
such as java.lang.Integer, jboss should define a default
number such as 0 to init Double object or Integer
object, then put it in jndi context, I will complete that
job, waiting your reply.

thanks.

Regards

Patch to apply:

public void importEjbJarXml(Element element) throws
DeploymentException {
name = getElementContent(getUniqueChild
(element, env-entry-name));
type = getElementContent(getUniqueChild
(element, env-entry-type));
// Strip any surrounding spaces
type = type.trim();
try {
ClassLoader loader =
EnvEntryMetaData.class.getClassLoader();
Class typeClass = loader.loadClass(type);
if( typeClass == String.class ) {
Element valueElement =
getOptionalChild (element, env-entry-value);
if (valueElement == null) {
value = new String ();
}
else {
value = getElementContent
(valueElement);
}
}
else {
value = getElementContent
(getUniqueChild(element, env-entry-value));
}
}
catch (ClassNotFoundException ce) {
throw new DeploymentException (ce);
}
}

[JBoss-dev] [ jboss-Bugs-698682 ] DynamicQL concurrency problem

Summary: DynamicQL concurrency problem

Initial Comment:
I've been using DynamicQL with CMP Entity Beans in
JBoss 3.0.6 and it's working quite well, except for a little
problem. When I've more than one client running a
DynamicQL query at the same time over the same CMP
Entity Bean, sometimes I got the following exception:
