Hmmm. This time it built "fine" for me in that it did not fail; not sure what was going on before. However, I get strange results: - server/default/lib contains cglib, although it is missing asm - server/all/lib contains neither Just kicked off a clean build, so lets see if that fixes it... -Original Message- From: Scott M Stark Sent: Monday, May 08, 2006 1:02 PM To: Steve Ebersole; 'jboss-development@lists.sourceforge.net'; Dimitris Andreadis; 'Emmanuel Bernard'; Bill Burke Subject: RE: [JBoss-dev] RE: Hibernate, HA, ,HEM, antlr versions in Branch_4_0 So that produces the question: where is the build failing? Re: [JBoss-dev] jboss-4.0.4.GA-ejb3 does not have entity manager and annotations jars
I've fixed it by enhancing setup-ejb3-dist. Seems to me that the ejb3 deployer directory builder (whatever that is) should take care of that though. I was also able to successfully test EJB3 on the latest HEM and HA. Emmanuel Ruel Loehr wrote: Look at the file /build/build-distr.xml The target you are concerned with is "setup-ejb3-dist". It looks like those jars are explicitly being added to the client dir and are assumed to be in the lib directory (which should then be copied over to the ejb3 config. RE: [JBoss-dev] RE: Hibernate, HA, ,HEM, antlr versions in Branch_4_0
The libraries.ent just reflects the binary components pulled in via some reference. It does not necessarily reflect valid dependencies. The current example where this is off is that the jbossas build-thirdparty.xml is referring to cglib but we should no longer have such a toplevel dependency. > -Original Message- > From: Emmanuel Bernard [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, May 08, 2006 11:25 AM > To: Scott M Stark > Cc: Steve Ebersole; jboss-development@lists.sourceforge.net; > Dimitris Andreadis; Bill Burke > Subject: Re: [JBoss-dev] RE: Hibernate, HA, ,HEM, antlr > versions in Branch_4_0 > > tools/etc/buildmagic/libraries.* files has some > --- Using Tomcat but need to do more? I understand that. What I am asking is how should cglib and asm jars be moved into the dist directories now? Where should those 2 copies happen now? Should I just leave it there (I commented it out because it fails unless cglib and asm are dependencies of the hibernate component). -Original Message- From: Scott M Stark Sent: Monday, May 08, 2006 11:53 AM To: Steve Ebersole; 'jboss-development@lists.sourceforge.net'; Dimitris Andreadis; 'Emmanuel Bernard'; Bill Burke Subject: RE: [JBoss-dev] RE: Hibernate, HA, ,HEM, antlr versions in Branch_4_0 The _module-hibernate-int-most still has to handle the base hibernate jars needed for the har deployer. [JBoss-dev] RE: Updated JBossASReleaseChecklist
We need to build with jdk14, then rebuild the jdk5 based modules using java5. The only point of this is to obtain the ejb3 binaries to upload the the repository. Ideally this should be a separate project that is built against jbossas integration jars, but we don't have those adequately defined. The installer obtains none of the jdk5 based artifacts from the jbossas canonical dist binary in the repository. These all come from separate binaries referenced in the installer build-thirdparty.xml. > -Original Message- > From: Ruel Loehr > Sent: Monday, May 08, 2006 9:05 AM > To: Scott M Stark; 'jboss-development@lists.sourceforge.net'; > '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' > Subject: RE: Updated JBossASReleaseChecklist > > I did a run through this. Previously we would switch the jdk to a 1.5 and build the ejb3 modules. I'm assuming the installer now pulls this stuff in automatically from the ejb3 profile. Look at the file /build/build-distr.xml The target you are concerned with is "setup-ejb3-dist". RE: [JBoss-dev] RE: Hibernate, HA, ,HEM, antlr versions in Branch_4_0
So I've run into problems trying to remove the dependency upon cglib for hibernate. The hibernate component-info has historically, for whatever reason, to define a dependency on asm (this was never a direct dependency). So I defined the component-info for hibernate-3.2.0.cr2 as: http://hibernate.org/"; description="ultra-high performance object/relational persistence"> However, that now leads to failures when trying to build because asm is no longer defined as a dependency. Seems logical that cglib really should be pulling in this dependency, since it is cglib which has this as a direct dependency. So it depends on whether cglib-2.1.2jboss (the current dep level for JBoss AS) has been used in a previous build. Ideally, we should modify that cglib component-info to pull in this dependency. If that has been used in a previously AS release, then I guess we'll need to put this asm dependency at the AS level. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Steve Ebersole Sent: Monday, May 08, 2006 8:40 AM To: Dimitris Andreadis; Emmanuel Bernard; Scott M Stark; Bill Burke Cc: jboss-development@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [JBoss-dev] RE: Hibernate, HA, ,HEM, antlr versions in Branch_4_0 No objections.
