[JBoss-dev] Tomcat 6 integrated
Ok, I took a snapshot of Tomcat 6 SVN and integrated it with JBoss. It had some annotation mistakes from spec (@DeclareRoles and @EJB was in the wrong package) so I had to modify it. The only thing I tested was the JMX-Console and EJB3 webservices. I had run the web testsuite before the integration and got a lot of errors so didn't bother trying after the integration. Also, Anil said he would fix any problems anyways. The repository has a snapshot of the sourcecode if you need to look back to it. By end of next week (hopefully a lot sooner), I hope to have the 1st iteration of injection into Tomcat for Java EE 5. This will require minor changes to Tomcat and also a refactoring of EJB3 so that code can be shared between these modules. Later, Bill P.S. I CC'd core as I'm not sure my emails get to jboss-dev anymore. I'll post same on tomcat forum. -- Bill Burke JBoss Lead Architect Redhat Inc. Re: [JBoss-dev] Promotion of common module to independent project
Just to be clear, instead of just cutting off the cvs write access to the common module, the plan is to remove the source. This follows how the extraction procedure was performed for JBossCache. (e.g. if you do a cvs checkout of jboss-head and allow empty folders to be created, you will get cache, but there is nothing in it). So, you get your commits in to cvs for jboss-common (hopefully by 8 am central us time tomorrow), we sync your changes to the repo and perform the integration and send notice of completion, you start using svn. The cvs source for common will still be there for a few days until everyone is comfortable the svn repo is working as expected. Then we'll remove the source. Re: [JBoss-dev] Promotion of common module to independent project
Of course. I am hoping that by tomorrow morning all code will be checked in and I can sync any changes with the svn repo. Once that is complete I'll need to tag the common project and release the jars to http://repository.jboss.com. Then I'll need to modify jbossas to build against the binaries. Once all of that is complete and verified we can then "officially" begin to use svn as the repo. I was hoping to have this completed by noonish US central time. [JBoss-dev] Promotion of common module to independent project
Tomorrow, we are going to promote the jboss-common module to an independent project housed in subversion. If you are an active developer on this module, please check in any work to cvs. What this means for you: The common module will become its own project. This is similar to the extraction performed for remoting and cache. The key difference is that the new project will be housed in subversion rather than cvs. The code for common will then be integrated into JBossAS via the thirdparty dependency mechanism. I’ve setup a wiki page which details the “anticipated” questions. It details the subversion usage procedures: http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossCommonProject Ruel Loehr JBoss QA -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
