Running a checksum against the respective jarfiles in both locations shows them to be identical. Hello,
I have deployed the tutorials and tried to generate own beans with the Eclipse
Hibernate Tools. The Webapp works fine, I can create and find records in the
database. There is only one ugly error in the log: "StateManager" not yet
installed. I do not know if this is critical.
Then I tried to write an own Servlet where I wanted to use the sessionbeans,
but I always get a javax.naming.NameNotFoundException.
The Bean is registered, I can use it with the JSP pages and I can see it in the
JMX-Console:

seam-gen generates this code:

and in the xxxEdit.xhtml doesn't generate:
size="1" maxlength="1"
next, when i enter 'A' in this field, seam complain: "length must be between 0
and 1".
i had to remove @Length, and add size and maxlength to work. i think it would
be nice that seam-gen do it for me.

I came across a similar Exception with the 1.2.0Patch1 release (I haven't tried this on 1.2.1 yet). In short, some fields in my tables were deliberately of type char (rather than varchar) to test out seam-gen and even though the entity beans were reveng'ed by seam-gen, the expected type for those same fields on the deployed app was varchar. In my case I was able to fine-tune the schema this time, but I never got an answer to my question about what to do when the schema is fixed (eg a client's legacy app that has some fields defined as char(n)). I manually coded my MoleculeHome (rather than create it by "config" in components.xml) so it can suck out the Atom object (and the Compound) from the context and get the id from the Atom object for use in the overridden persist. I am not sure if this is a reasonable practice in seam but it seems to be a solution that works - but it does couple my Molecule's entity home to this particular use-case a bit (any comments). Did you find another way or any best practice for this type of problem? In a seam gen generated app, I guess the ID field is included on the "create/edit eg Atom.Edit.xhtml" pages, even if in the database the key (ID_) is marked as auto-generated, because the jdbc meta-data may not be available to help hibernate reveng this detail. The main use case I've found for entity converter is to provide a string-object mapping for use in menus and dropdowns. When the converter is called into action, it takes the key (the selected Category's name), now in the appropriate context, and looks up the actual Category object (in the same map) to get that Category's id for use in the query. Hi Experts,
Im using injected persistent context in my session bean.
@PersistentContext(unit="AppConext")
private EntityManeger entityManager;
In this session bean i've a method in which,i iterate over the list.
Lets say this method as method1();
The scenario is somthing like this..
@TransactionAttribute(REQUIRES_NEW)
public voic method1()
{
..some code.
for(SomeObject obj : someObjectList)
{
..some code
//call method2
method2(obj);
.some code..
}
}
@TransactionAttribute(REQUIRES_NEW)
public void method2()
{
}
What is happening here is when i call mehod2 and pass value to it from list,
the method throws NoEntityFound excexption and ejb transaction rolls back.
In the catch block of method2 , i'm catching NoEntityFoundException and getting
the programm flow to normal flow.
Throwing of NoEntiyFound exception is an expected behaviour.
But my requirement is that i need to continue the iteration over the other
values in the list.
But when the programm comes back to method1 and the moment it does some
procesing i get exception like:
javax.transaction.RollbackException: Already marked for rollback,
tx=TransactionImpl:XidImpl[FormatId=257,
GenericJDBCException..cannot open connection..session close
1)What is the technical reson behind exception in method1?
2)What should i do to solve it so that my code processes the rest of the
elements in the list?

btw. anyone that can tell me how to detect autogenerated keys on the database they use via propritary sql or standard jdbc metadata is very welcome to tell me ;) Only requirement is that it is accessible through a jdbc connection.
