Sorry, The fieldset will not fix the problem but if you move the commandbuttons from editPortalTheme.xhtml to this page (common/editTheme.xhtml) it will works with IE 6 and Firefox 1.5. This this page is used when you customize the theme of a Portal or Page. There is another one (editWindowTheme.xhtml) that is used when you customize the window theme. Follows the complete source (worked for me) of editTheme.xhtml: | http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"; | xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"; | xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"; | xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core";> | | | | | | | | Layout: | | | | | | | | | | Theme: | | | | | | | | | | RenderSet: | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Do the same approach with editWindowTheme.xhtml. The editWindowTheme.xhtml is working fine whith Firefox but not with IE. The main difference between them is the DIV just before ui:insert Hope this help. regards, r.harari View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4049190#4049190 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=4049190 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - desing pattern for remote accessing
Hello, I am looking for correct design pattern which will allow me to access data via EJB remotly. I want to have a single point of enterance both for SEAM application and for other applications, which use the same data. My current idea is to have: - Stateless EJB acting as a DAO - Stateful EJB, acting as a seam action - JSF as a presentation layer The stateful EJB calls the stateless to get the data. It also additionally has a remote interface which allows other application to call it. Due to convetions of seam I have to "double" the interface, for example: | @DataModel | private List contacts; | | @DataModelSelection | private Contact contact; | | @Factory("contacts") | public void findAll() { | if(contacts == null) { | contacts = myStatelessBean.findAll(); | } | } | | public List getContacts() { | findAll(); | return contacts; | } | I find this sollution quite innatural, because you have to implement two interfaces, which do quite the same thing. The other idea is to develop a facade, but it introduces another problem: passing parameters and returning values - it is done by @In and @Out annotations in seam. You will have to call additional methods from facade to set parameters and get the returning values. Which sollution is better? Maybe you know a better sollution for this problem? thx View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4049184#4049184 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=4049184 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

[jboss-user] [JBoss AOP] - Re: Obnoxious AOP runtime error
Yeah! you are absolutely right!!! it was cause by the aopc version differentce. The story is like this: I put all my jar libs in a so called extlib library which included jboss-aop-jdk5.jar. The problem is that somehow my colleague put some of their jars in there too, one of which is for jboss client and it has the same name jboss-aop-jdk5.jar too but actually they are from different version. I know this but checking the MANIFEST.MF in the META-INF of the jar. My colleague's version was : Implementation-Version: jboss-aop-1.5.2.GA Mine was: Implementation-Version: jboss-aop-1.3.5 And somehow in Eclipse classpath my colleague's file was listed before mine that's maybe why it use that one to run the project and cause the error. I solved this by adding my aop jar to the classpath and re-order it to the appear before all jar and now the problems gone. Thanks a lot Kabir! [jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: Signal a task on a html form submit
Just some precisions : - I spent lot of time trying everything (taskInstance, processIntance and not only token) in my expressions and I never get any answer. I don't know why since it works well with any simple variable (with "#{var['myvar']}"). - This input code is in a modified form file created by the GPD. I need to have 2 solutions here : the first is a normal transition link and the second the file upload. They lead to the same unique transition to the next node. I searched the documentation and I understand that the way I do it should work.. is it a bug? (I'm not know EL enough to figure myself) I searched in all the test cases and I didn't find any example of that... did I miss one? I lost nearly a day on that so if you have any little idea... even if it may seem stupid... I'll take it and test it. Thanks Gavin - good to know it is (probably) fixed in the latest on CVS. If I understand, going to the latest in CVS, it also means switching to JBoss 4.2 - and possibly other changes as well. I will do a more orchestrated change over at some point and then test everything. This thing bit me right now, and I had to fix it without introducing too many changes elsewhere. [jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: conversations, nested conversations
Hi, my solution isn't best but it works: with component Conversation I end up nested conversation, then Redirect to required view a then define transitions for previous node, or reposition pageflow to new view (node): | public void endAndRedir() { | Conversation.instance().endBeforeRedirect(); | Redirect.instance.setViewId("/projectDetail.jsp"); | | //Pageflow.instance.reposition("detail"); | } | I commented out last line, because nested conversation doesn't ended. So I have to define transitions for previous node (/search.jsp, where pageflow is still situated, after redirect) even if this view doesn't have transitions (like new view /projectDetail.jsp). Hopefully helps. Hope you find better solution and post it. #1 Can be implemented using a Hibernate Filter, which we have special support for in Seam. #2 or #3 Can be implemented using multiple SessionFactories, or EntityManagerFactories. You would need to do a little trick when the user logs in, to map the SessionFactory you are interested in for this user to the context variable that your Seam-managed persistence context uses. But this is trivial to implement and will work well. [jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: a4j:region and conversationID
No, its not. Seam keeps the conversation id in the UIViewRoot, so if you want to change the conversation context from a partial render, you would need to render the whole f:view (which is not really a partial render!). This is definitely a limitation of the current design (closely related to our limitation that there may be only one conversation per page), but I believe it's perfectly fine for almost all purposes. However, this should be documented, since it is not at all intuitive unless you happen to know how Seam in implemented. So please create in issue in JIRA, asking for documentation, and assign it to me. Thanks. Currently Seam has no validation for page parameters, but I agree that it would be a very-nice-to-have, and easy to implement. So my question really is: exactly what should actually *happen* when page parameter validation fails?? It's not like we can redisplay the form with error messages ;-) Options: * set validation.succeeded to false (allowing you to skip the page action) and add the validation messages to the page? * add the validation messages to the page and then redirect to some view-id defined in pages.xml? * throw an exception that you can handle in pages.xml? I can see good arguments for each one... [jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Right way of querying a collection
Hi all I try to get part of a collection over eql (or whatever the ejb query language is called). In the Hibernate tutorial it is suggested to use the criterias to get the data from a collection. Hi. anonymous wrote : | But in some weird case where my validation require some kind of twisted logic using some properties from the Person entity and all the other entities already persisted, is there a clean way to add this logic in the model? Or this is conceptually wrong? | For me, putting validation logic in your model is nasty. And it's conceptually wrong. If you want to validate something related to one or several entities, and you don't have another way to do it (according your requirements) then you should perfom such validation in your controller (SLSB or SFSB). The example I gave you it was recently adopted by me for validate duplicates for an entity (of course when the properties are not the @Ids). Time ago I was doing this validation in a session bean, something as follows: | public void persis(Person entity){ | | try { |em.createQuery("select p from P where p.lastName=:lastName and | p.firstName = :firstName).setParameter("lastName", | entity.lastName).setParameter("firstName", | entity.firstName).getSingleResult(); | | //user exists, then throw some AlreadyExistException. | } catch (NoResultException e) { | em.persist(entity); | } | | } | But the above code involves two SQL's: | select from person ...where lastname | insert into person.. (if the above sql does not return value) | But delegating this validation to DB layer (@UniqueConstraint) the only SQL will always be: | insert into person | So, in order to reduce the DB round trip I decided to use DB approach for this case. Of course, if you are free to make changes in the database schema. I think this is total portable, because I don't know some database server that does not allow to use "UNIQUE" constraints. anonymous wrote : The validation you gave me works great. Thank you for the answer! The problem is, for example i need to submit form and persist an object in an old long running conversation.
