[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: instances problem

2007-06-14 Thread habicht
The modifications for PostgreSQL are made and the driver is under
/jboss/server/default/lib. JBoss created all tables and filld them with data.
to make sure that it's not the DB I set the DB config back to hypersonic
(original xml-files from the zip). It produced the same problem.

About the stack trace:
During the jboss start I receive the error below but I don't know if it related
to my problem. It is the only error I get during starting jboss, deploying the
projects and calling the pages with my browser. If you meant something
different please tell me. I'm still not very familiar with the whole topic.

[jboss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Any way to do global overrides for EJB3 defaults?

2007-06-14 Thread dbudworth
I think I just realized that I've been barking up the wrong tree for a few
months with the issues I'm having with using a foreign JCA provider

it appears that standardjboss.xml is for EJB 2 only, yes?

And, as far as I can tell, for EJB3 I can do:
Annotate my MDBs
or
Use ejb-jar.xml
or
combo annotation/ejb-jar.xml

problem is, I have 200+ MDBs that I want to apply the SAME setting for each.
ie: I want to set the jca inflow config they use, which rar they use, define
them to default to Queues, change the DLQ to go to the same place.

Is there any place I can set new 'defaults' for the activation properties? Or
do I need to explicitly name each mdb in ejb-jar.xml / modify annotations

I suppose I might be able to mixin the annotations using aspectj/jbossaop, not
sure how I'd an item to the activationConfig array via aop, plus it would make
the ability to change those defaults kind of tough for some co-workers.

left no other choice, I suppose I could generate my ejb-jar.xml file by
scanning the source tree, but that feels like a throw back to the xdoclet days.

I'd probably change the JBoss source and recompile first I suppose.

Any one have better ideas? Or is there actually a file I can create that I can
put defaults in to?

Thanks

is there some config that binds the web application to an IP?

[jboss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Re: EJB3 MDBs & JCA Message inflow with foreing JMS provider

2007-06-14 Thread dbudworth
sorry to ressurect an old topic, but I've been beating my head against a wall
to get this to work with Sonic 7.5 and jboss 4.2

Is there a means of setting the default rar file to use for inflow in ejb3?

I've been changing standardjboss.xml but nothing seems to take effect. do I
*have* to set it as an annotation in every MDB directly? Or can I change the
default settings?

worse comes to worse, I'll edit the jboss source to change the default value,
but I'd really rather avoid that.

I use JBoss 4.2 in the default configuraion and have removed the deploy/jms
directory all together. I need to have the server stripped down as much as
possible so I can't run JBossMQ along side of it. Just trying to drop sonic in
in place of the JBoss MQ and not add extra config to every mdb.

Any help would be appriciated

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: JBPM Integration

2007-06-14 Thread roy007
Hi Sebastian,

Your post has been very helpful as I am in the process of evaluating different
WFM solutions and had the same questions and concerns. A lot of those were
clarified by your post.

I still have one question maybe you can help me understand this...

Suppose I have a status field in my entity E mapping to table in schema A and
the workflow is describing an approval process (jBPM using schema B). So if I
want to update the status field of my entity do I need to use a transaction
manager so that both these operations commit to the DB atomically.

Since I am using spring I am thinking I can write an aspect that would get me
the state and then I could update my entity status field.

Are there other ways of doing this? Is this the right way to do it?

thnx in advance.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - How to create reusable Seam components?

2007-06-14 Thread Axyd
Hello!

Can you please tell me where I can found information about how to create
reusable Seam components? And is it possible?

For example, I need a 'Forum' component (just a simple forum), which I then can
reuse in many pages in an application.
So I first created it in Seam (as usual web app), it consists of a set of
*.xhtml and *.java files (backed beans). Is there any way to form it as 'Seam
component' and then reuse?

I tried to found such information but failed.

There is ability to form it as 'ui:composition', but the problem is that it
contains not only a 'view' part but also a ?business logic? part, and the
'ui:composition' tag encapsulates the view only.

Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for my English.

[jboss-user] [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - DurableSubscriber

2007-06-14 Thread jp_ammu
Hi All,
I am creating DurableSubscribers on a remote JMS topic. Here code snippet. Iam
using a seesion Bean with Message Listener. Iam using Jboss and Oracle JMS

public void connect(){
tcf = new STCTopicConnectionFactory(RibHost, rib_port);
topicConnection = tcf.createTopicConnection();
logger.debug(" topicConnection Created "+topicConnection);
//Stop the connection if

topicSession = topicConnection.createTopicSession(false,
Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
logger.debug(" TopicSession Created "+topicSession);
// temporarly stop the connection for incomiing messages
if(topicConnection!=null)topicConnection.stop();

topic = topicSession.createTopic(TMP_PRC_TOPIC);
logger.debug("Topic Created > "+topic);
try{
topicSubscriber = topicSession.createDurableSubscriber(topic, "SH_CLR_PRC_CHG");

}catch(Exception e){
System.out.println(" Exception Creating DurableSubscriber SH_CLR_PRC_CHG
"+e.getMessage());
}
logger.debug("Subscriber Created > "+topicSubscriber);
topicSubscriber.setMessageListener(this);
topicConnection.setExceptionListener(this);
topicConnection.start();

}

Topic being created on subscription name SH_CLR_PRC_CHG and messages are
comming. But When i restart my application,
1) If no messages are there on the subscription in remote jms server, the
connection is created fine
2) If there are some messages are already in the subscription, the
createDurableSubscriber() throws exception saying the subsctiption name already
exists. and conenction fails.

How do solve this problem. Before creating
topicSession.createDurableSubscriber(), is there any way i can check if the
subsription name exists or any flag of createDurableSubscriber() that enforces
reassigning the same subscription name

Any advises please?

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - jbpm-gpd 3.0.12 not working with Eclipse 3.3

2007-06-14 Thread philippk
Hello,

just discovered this project but unfortunatly cannot use the current designer
in the newest Eclipse Europa build 3.3.rc2-rc4. We need this eclipse version to
develop our software.
Are there any know issues beside the faulty apache-xerces plugin dependency
that I removed by hand from the feature manifest. Even after the feature seems
to be installed, no entry for jbpm projects appear in the "New wizards".

Thanks in advance for fixing this,
Phil

2007-06-14 Thread glennsil
Thanks for the help. I downloaded and built the booking example from
C:\jboss-seam-1.3.0.ALPHA and it ran. It appears that ajax4jsf-1.1.0 depends on
a number of apache commons jars, which the documentation specifically says it
not needed. In fact, nowhere in the docs does it say what jars need to be in
the WEB-INF\lib directory of your war file packaged with the ear.

[jboss-user] [Management, JMX/JBoss] - Use of JSR88 implementation (J2EE deployment api)

2007-06-14 Thread Boemm
Hi there,

I've tried to use the JSR88 implementation of jboss for deploying j2ee
components, but i run in trouble while connecting to the jboss server ...

I don't know, which uri I have to use to get the a deployment manager, which is
able to distribute and start some components.

I have used this piece of code:

JarFile deploymentJar = new JarFile(new File("lib/jboss-deployment.jar"));
  | java.util.jar.Manifest manifestFile = deploymentJar.getManifest();
  | Attributes attributes = manifestFile.getMainAttributes();
  | String key = "J2EE-DeploymentFactory-Implementation-Class";
  | String className = attributes.getValue(key);
  | // className is now org.jboss.deployment.spi.factories.DeploymentFactoryImpl
  |
  | Class deploymentFactory = Class.forName(className);
  | DeploymentFactory deploymentFactoryInstance = (DeploymentFactory)
deploymentFactory.newInstance();
  |
  | DeploymentFactoryManager dfm = DeploymentFactoryManager.getInstance();
  | dfm.registerDeploymentFactory(deploymentFactoryInstance);
  |
  | String uri = "localhost:1099";
  | String username = null;
  | String password = null;
  | DeploymentManager dm = null;
  |
  | // all works fine up to this point
  | // but here I don't know, what uri I have to use to get the deployment
manager ...
  | try {
  | dm = dfm.getDeploymentManager(uri, username, password);
  | } catch (DeploymentManagerCreationException e) {
  | e.printStackTrace();
  | }
  |

Could somebody please tell me, what uri I have to use, to get my
DeploymentManager from JBoss?

Thanks a lot!
Steffen

I was just mentioning that as an idea. Perhaps Seam could provide an

Just a thought.

AFAIK calls to this. aren't intercepted so you can't. You need to put the
async method on separate component, inject the component and call
cmp.sendAnEmail() - though this does seem quite convoluted. Hmmm.

I'm confused - are you trying to put ajax4jsf-1.1.x.jar in server/default/lib
(DON'T do this) or in the WEB-INF/lib of your war project or in the WEB-INF/lib
of your war inside a ear?

The booking example in 1.3ALPHA demonstrates correct packaging for a Seam
application using ajax4jsf running in AS 4.2.0.GA - give that a go and see if
it works. Use seam-gen to set up an ajax4jsf enabled project.

This problem has nothing to do with web.xml or with WEB-INF/lib contents. Just
put the ajax4jsf-1.1.0.jar file in the server/default/lib directory, restart
your sever and try to deploy any ear or war file. You can't.

No, theres no way to show this on the diagram, but like you said, it is done
using a fork and a join, but... no the normal fork that comes with jbpm, you
need to create your own implementation with a node.

I have in an application this, but I did not code it so I can't hand it to you,
but let me ask the programer if theres no problem with posting it.

Also you can look in google for an implementation of the fork done by "Alfresco
Content Manager" programers, I believe it does what your trying to achive.

Am developing a application that uses Stateless Session Beans, want to know if
there is a way to turn on logging within Jboss to trace the activity of the

Have read about log4j etc and how you can put statements into the code (The
Developed Beans) to have log4j put the statements into defined files. I am
thinking that Jboss must have some code that can be turned on to allow me to
trace the activity of the loaded ejbs... Do not really want to add more code
if jboss has done it already.

Would like peoples feed back on how the handled logging/audit trail within the
session beans etc...

I've tried everything in the latest documentation, which says there are no
dependencies on other jar files needed. Try starting the server with

First of all, you need then to have a transition to the END node, which I guess
you do have, anyways, like I said before your process is probably working but
simply you are never going to see it on the END node. Once a task goes to the
END node it simply "ENDS", and the process is finish, meaning is not longer at
any state (node).

[jboss-user] [Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP] - cant't deploy in context root on jboss-4.2.0.GA

2007-06-14 Thread hasc
Hi,

i have trouble getting my application running in the root context. i read the
documentation, the howto s and so on, maybe i'm stupid but i cant get it
working...

i was trying to configure apache and tomcat with ajp ant got so far that i
could access the application with [mydomain.tld/app] but no way with
[mydomain.tld].
so i tried to get it running on 127.0.0.1:8080 - without success.

i renamed the ROOT.war and in application.xml i defined:
/
  |
  | or
  |
  |

i did the same in jboss-web.xml all without success. i remember i got it
working on jboss-4.0.5.GA but now on jboss-4.2.0.GA i have no clue.

can anyone help please?

regards and thanks,
hasc

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: JBPM JSF Integrartion

2007-06-14 Thread roccolocko
One way to go its what you did, modify the jbpm.war and include your JSF files
in there but then you will only be changing things all the time to fit your
needs.

I thing the best way to do an integration is to generate your own war file
(yourAplication.war) and communicate that application with the jbpm engine,
remember that jbpm is not the jbpm.war, that is only a example of how you can
make the jbpm work.

Once you deploy your own application on the deploy folder of the server, yor
have access to everything on the jbpm engine, just by using the API.

You have everything there, so for example, if you have a button to save a task
on your application, you only need a java class that uses the jbpm API to save
the task, variables, and takes the transition you need it to take.

For example(this is what I use):

  | public void save(Hashtable taskVariables, String transition)
  | {
  | this.jbpmContext =
JbpmConfiguration.getInstance().getCurrentJbpmContext();
  | this.taskMgmtSession = jbpmContext.getTaskMgmtSession();
  |
  | try
  | {
  | TaskInstance taskInstance =
taskMgmtSession.loadTaskInstance(taskInstanceId);
  | System.out.println("ESTA ABIERTA???: " +
jbpmContext.getSession().isOpen());
  |
  | if(taskVariables != null && taskVariables.size() > 0)
  | {
  | Iterator i = taskVariables.keySet().iterator();
  | while(i.hasNext()){
  | String key = (String)i.next();
  | Object value = taskVariables.get(key);
  | taskInstance.setVariable(key, value);
  | }
  | }
  | taskInstance.end(transition);
  |
  | jbpmContext.save(taskInstance);
  |
  | }
  | }
  |

Of course you need to import the correspondent packeges which in my case are:
import org.jbpm.JbpmConfiguration;
import org.jbpm.JbpmContext;
import org.jbpm.db.TaskMgmtSession;

Hope that helps.

Good news is that it is nevertheless possible and even animated:

have trouble with PNG format. Mail clients consuming HTML emails is another

Thank you both for your prompt and professional assistance

More critical is requirement to have animated images.
PNG does not support this.
Hopefully one of animation extensions (MNG or APNG or ANG or ... ) somtime

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Licence Question - Commercial End Product

2007-06-14 Thread strandum
Hi,

I am a java consultant with 10 years experience that has been asked by a
software house to evaluate various workflow solutions for incorporation into a
web application. I have had a look at jboss jbpm and feel it maybe a good fit
with our requirements. Is it posible to deploy this application without
incurring any licence infrigement within a piece of commercial software?

Thanks in advance.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - Re: 1.3.0 Temporary Destination - Full security

2007-06-14 Thread aslak
I'd like to clearify my last post...

The last post was a bit of a mix between two different issues I was having.

The referencing source was more of an 'oddity' that I found looking for;
'Why I wasn't able to read from my temp destination even though I could see the
message?'.

I had assumed that Queue/TopicRequestor handled the connection.start as well,
guess not..

The main problem still is... I don't have read permission on my temporary
destination by default.

Looking at the org.jboss.jms.server.container.SecurityAspect it might be
missing something like(pesudo):

if (dest.isTemporary()) {
if(dest.getClientConnectionId != clientConnection.id)
throw SecurityException
}

I havn't found the correct semantics yet.

Ah, my mistake, I guess EL doesn't qualify as a runtime expression.

  | include

  | The include tag can point at any Facelet which might use
the composition tag, component tag, or simply be straight XHTML/XML. It should
be noted that the src path does allow relative path names, but they will always
be resolved against the original Facelet requested. The include tag can be used
in conjunction with multiple tags to pass EL expressions/values to
the target page.

Facelet that you would like to include into your document.

[jboss-user] [JNDI/Naming/Network] - accessing a database in jboss

2007-06-14 Thread ros060
Hi,

I have a small application where I access a database using ejb with
jsp/servlets. The application is working ok but I have a question about the
mysql-ds.xml file and ejb-jar.xml file.

I have pasted the 2 files below. The thing is at the moment I have specified
the name of the database in mysql-ds.xml. I would like to state this name in
the ejb-jar.xml file so that I do not have to change the name of the database
everytime I have to access one.

Shall be thankful if somebody could advise me.

You'd have to update this to allow for "gif" format types, but that assumes
that ImageIO supports writing GIFS. Based on
"http://www.gif4j.com/java-gif4j-pro-gif-image-encode-save.htm"; you'll need an
extra library.

Yes, seamspace doesn't support gifs. But, as shakenbrain says, this is not
because s:fileUpload can't upload gifs, but just due to the design of the
example (in fact its because Java2D doesn't support writing to a gif, probably
because of licensing issues).

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Store example simpler than DVD Store is needed

2007-06-14 Thread dkane
Dear colleagues,

I have a very little Seam experience and need a template to create basic store
application.
DVD Store example is too complicated for the beginner.
Initially I need a very basic functionality : user login, searching products by
name, adding selected products to shopping cart and creating the order.
Order fulfillment would be the next step.

Could anyone please point to such example around the net ? Alternately, I will
appreciate step-by-step guide to DVD Store creaton with comments to each page
and each class. So far have not found that.

Thanks a lot in advance.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - back-buttoning after logging out

2007-06-14 Thread hstang
I noticed that in my particular Seam application, back-buttoning is allowed
after a user logouts which is concerning because if the user goes out for a
bathroom break and someone uses his computer, he can see data he's not allowed
to. When I try this with my bank online, it gives a "session timeout" error
message if I try this, which is a reasonable security precaution.

Is there any way I can achieve this kind of feature?

It works for JPEG and PNG (with a workaround for IE7 mentioned earlier in this

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Search Engines and Seam

2007-06-14 Thread monkeyden
If "home.seam" worked in the welcome file list, then the server would
essentially be restarting the request, since at that point you've already
passed the URI parsing facility of the server. The welcome file list can't be
anything that requires a request URI mapping in web.xml.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Search Engines and Seam

2007-06-14 Thread trickyvail
Previously I stated that search engines were not caching pages, but it would be
more accurate to state that they were caching blank pages (sorry for the
imprecision).

It seems that robots.txt can only be used to define areas to not visit, so that
won't work either.

Currently I'm thinking about the following approach:

  |
  |
  |
  |
  | (Tell the search engine to follow the redirecting index.html page,
but not to index it.)

Ideally though, I would like to have JBoss load my home.seam page by default,
rather than load an index.html page with a redirect. Is this something that is
possible and how do you configure JBoss to do this?

Thank you for everyone's help.

I guess I'm not following you. Where is this uploaded image supposed to be
shown? How are you storing it?

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - captureCurrentView

2007-06-14 Thread monkeyden
Having some trouble with captureCurrentView().

The use case is:
Actor is on any page within the application. Let's call it "Page A".
Actor clicks the "Sign Up" link
Actor is presented with the "Sign Up" page
Actor enters necessary info and selects "Submit"
Actor is brought to the "Sign Up Confirm" page, which displays a "Continue"
button
Actor selects the continue button and is brought back to Page A.

I have an RegisterAction:

@Name("registerAction")
  | @Scope(CONVERSATION)
  | public class RegisterAction{
  | @Begin
  | public String begin(){
  | redirect.captureCurrentView();
  | return "signupPage";
  | }
  |
  | public String register() {
  | //create records
  |
  |
  | //explicitly log the user in
  | identity.setUsername(user.getUserName());
  | identity.setPassword(user.getUserPassword());
  | loginAction.login();
  | result = "confirm";
  | }
  |
  | @Create
  | public void create(){
  |
  | }
  |
  | @End
  | public String takeMeBack(){
  | redirect.returnToCapturedView();
  | return null;
  | }
  | }

I have a commandLInk which points to begin()

And I have a commandButton on the Confirm page, which points to takeMeBack()

  |

I also have navigation rules in pages.xml

  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |

The problem is, it appears that Seam is redirecting to the captured view after
the register() method, when I return "confirm", rather than when the "Continue"
button calls takeMeBack(). I wouldn't expect Seam to do the redirect
automatically ever, but if it did, I wouldn't expect it to happen until after
@End is encountered.

Any clues? Am I misunderstanding how captureCurrentView works?

Thanks

Yes, I can upload any content and I can see binary data of the gif image in the

But the problem is that web browsers (e.g. IE7, Firefox 2.x, Opera 9.x) don't
show uploaded gif images.

I believe it looks at the content-type of the uploaded file and rejects it when
not one of the accepted types.

But if you mean accept attribute, it was intended for file filtering by web
browsers and is ignored.

upload files from their local computer or network. The VALUE attribute
specifies the name of the initial file, but it is typically ignored by browsers
as a security precaution. The ACCEPT attribute gives a comma-separated list of
media types accepted, allowing the browser to filter out inappropriate files.
Current browsers generally ignore the ACCEPT attribute.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: DataModel using Set does not work

2007-06-14 Thread andreigh.ts
Thank you all for the answers.

Can you please help me out - There still are some problems and searching on the
forum seemsto be bugs, but I am not sure. Can you please confirm.

Here are the problems:

1) Stateful component - Conversation scope; outjecting Set DataModel
(defaulting to Conversation scope).
Problem - UI is not refreshed, even though the Factory method is called on the
add event.

  | @Stateful
  | @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION)
  | @Name("requestWizardQuestions")
  | public class RequestWizardQuestionsAction implements RequestWizardQuestions
{
  | ...
  | @DataModel
  | public Set requestQuestionsList;
  |
  | @DataModelSelection
  | @Out(required=false)
  | private RfqRequestQuestion selectedQuestion;
  |
  | @Factory("requestQuestionsList")
  | public void initQuestionsList() {
  | requestQuestionsList = rfqRequest.getRfqRequestQuestions());
  | }
  |
  | public void addNewQuestion() {
  | rfqRequest.getRfqRequestQuestions().add(new
RfqRequestQuestion());
  | initQuestionsList();
  | }
  | ...
  | }
  |

Replacing Set with List works.
Is this a bug signaled here:
http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=106232
?

2) Stateful component - Conversation scope; outjecting DataModel to PAGE scope.
Problem - The @DataModelSelection is null (seems not to be injected) after
clicking the item in UI.

  | @Stateful
  | @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION)
  | @Name("requestWizardQuestions")
  | public class RequestWizardQuestionsAction implements RequestWizardQuestions
{
  | ...
  | @DataModel(scope=ScopeType.PAGE)
  | public List requestQuestionsList;
  |
  | @DataModelSelection
  | @Out(required=false)
  | private RfqRequestQuestion selectedQuestion;
  |
  | @Factory("requestQuestionsList")
  | public void initQuestionsList() {
  | requestQuestionsList = new
ArrayList(rfqRequest.getRfqRequestQuestions());
  | }
  |
  | public void deleteQuestion() {
  |   rfqRequest.getRfqRequestQuestions().remove(selectedQuestion);
  entityManager.remove(selectedQuestion);
  | }
  |
  | ...
  | }
  |

deleteQuestion is called when clicking an item in the List, but
selectedQuestion is null.

Is this the bug posted here:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-308
?

Am I doing something wrong, or are just 2 bugs?

Thanks

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Search Engines and Seam

2007-06-14 Thread trickyvail
I've tried the above with both home.seam and home.xhtml as the target welcome
page but with no success. Maybe because the server tries to access the file
directly rather than letting seam intercept the file by extension?

Solution attempt 2 - create a robots.txt file that directs the search engines
to the correct root page for the site (home.seam).

[jboss-user] [EJB 3.0] - JBoss EJB 3.0 TrailBlazer doesn't seem to work for me

2007-06-14 Thread happytour
Greetings,

I'm starting using EJB 3 with JBoss 4.0.5GA and I deployed the EJB 3
TrailBlazer (EJBTrail.ear). I launced the browser and I went in the Message
Driven Beans section. Here I pressed the "Try the message driven calculation"
button, I accepted the default values in the Investment calculator windows and
I pressed on the Calculate button. I got HTTP 500 saying
"javax.naming.NameNotFoundException mdb not bound". This is true since I didn't
deploy any queue named mdb. However, the same page is saying:

If the queue does not exist, the JBoss container automatically creates it at
deploy time. There is no XML configuration file needed!

So I don't understand wether I have or not to explicitly deploy the queue.

Okay, I deployed the queue with the following service:

  |
  |
  |
  |
  |   jboss.mq:service=DestinationManager
  |
  |
  |

After doing this, I got the following message in the console:

[mdb] Bound to JNDI name: queue/mdb

Now when I repeat the test and I click on the Calculate button, as described
previously, I get the message:

Please wait a while, I am checking wether the message has arrived.

But the result is not displayed, meaning that the message didn't arrive. No
error message is displayed in the server's console.

Could someone please explain how to get running this nice tutorial ?

Kind regards,

Nicolas

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Can't set Character encoding for submitted form data

2007-06-14 Thread ryildirim
The problem might arise from URIEncoding
http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=107804 will address
your problem. This is only applicable when your request parameters are sent
with the URL query string.

One other possibility of this happening is your database's client/server
character encoding. For Oracle, one way of configuring your client encoding is
with setting NLS  parameters accordingly.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Why limiting SEAM to Web Applications?

2007-06-14 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
There's certainly no reason that Seam has to be limited to web application
development. We've even talked some about using it in Swing applications.
However, I don't think anyone sees it as a huge priority right now. I'm sure
we'd welcome contributions from anyone who wants to use Seam outside of web
applications.

[jboss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Re: Message Driven Bean with TIBCO EMS - Wrong Connection fa

2007-06-14 Thread harleybl
I found the problem... After pouring through the logs and JBoss AS source code
I found a place where you can select the jms provider JNDI.

Changing the annotations to:

  | @MessageDriven(
  | activationConfig = {
  | @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "providerAdapterJNDI",
propertyValue = "java:/TibJMSProvider"),
  | @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destination",
  | propertyValue = "ems/queue.sample"),
  | @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType",
propertyValue = "javax.jms.Queue")}
  | ))
  |

Fixes the problem.
Here are the following valid AcitvationConfigProperties that JBoss understands:

destination
  | destinationType
  | providerAdapterJNDI
  | maxSession

[jboss-user] [JBossCache] - Re: How could I create a new Region programmatically?

2007-06-14 Thread Sancheski
I think I found the solution, perhaps it is gonna be usefull for someone.

The code below could be used as an example:

  | //getting the cache's eviction RegionManager
  | RegionManager regionMgr = cache.getEvictionRegionManager();
  |
  | //Creating your own EvictionConfiguration
  | FIFOConfiguration config = new FIFOConfiguration();
  | ((FIFOConfiguration) config).setMaxNodes(10);
  |
  | //New instance of an EvictionPolicy
  | FIFOEviction eviction = new FIFOPolicy();
  | //Configure eviction policy in the cache instance
  | eviction.configure(cache);
  | //finally, create the region
  | regionMgr.createRegion("/foo/com", eviction, config);
  |
  |

What I was missing was the eviction configuration in the cache instance
(eviction.configure(cache);) so I got a NullPointerException when the Timer
threads did periodic node clean up by running the eviction policy.
