[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - EJBQL question
Hey all, I have some entity, let's say, User, and other entity, Community, with many-to-many relationship between them. The user can be member in one, several or none communities. So, class User has a property communities, of SET type, with all appropriate getters and setters. I want to be able to make select ( by ejbql) for all users that have empty sets of communities, or, alternatively, do have non-empty set. How can I achieve it by ejbql query? On the web side, I have some radio buttons, let's say Has communities and Has no community, and, of cource, I would like to link it to this restriction of ejbql. [jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - failed to lazily initialize a collection
I have stateless bean (LocationBean) that provides access to data, and stateful action bean (CountryEditorBean) that has reference to stateless bean (Local interface). When I click a link on data table with list of entities that redirects me to page with edit form for that entity, I get exception that other aggregated entities cannot be fetched since session has been closed. org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: pl.labno.bernard.bidbull.locations.Region.towns, no session or session was closed So I figure that LocationBean fetches list of entities, and closes session (but why?), or detatches that entities. They exist only in some seam context. Then on editCountry.jspx there is an attempt to count number of Regions aggregated in that country entity. This causes the error, I think, since by default relations are lazy fetched. Is my interpretation correct ? I do not want to change fething policy, so what can I do to make things work ? Thanks for the response. Meanwhile i have detected that code IS generated. Due to the error there is no refresh of the directory list inside eclipse. A simple refresh revealed the generated code. All classes are there. But due to the error a many2one dependenxy must be missing. I will investigate further and compare the genereted Code with my expectations. Some questions? Is code generated class by class? Or it is generated in turns,e.g.: first all the java code for all classes, then table annotations for all classes, then dependencys ... I am asking because i am missing named querys which are present in the hbm.xml but not in the generated code. Perhaps the error occurs when these querys are parsed. Use statefull beans, stateless beans only live for one request-response cycle( they are not very usefull in this way), and use @PersistenceContext(type = PersistenceContextType.EXTENDED) on manager if you want to keep persistence context for more than one cycle, this way persistence context is bound to life cycle of statefull bean not just transaction. That way your entities will not be detached after response. Something else there is a third way, you can bound persistence context to an conversation, that can only be managed with seam, that way all statefull or stateless beans that live in side conversation share the same persistence context, but you have to inject manager | @In | private EntityManager em; | View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4123859#4123859 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4123859 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

I'm not sure whether I found exactly what you meant but I solved the problem by implementing a method public boolean isInstance(String reference) into the EntityBeans. the problem is that the classloader is still holding on the jar and thus under windows you will get such errors. we are working on getting jboss to actually undeploy the app before we start removing the files - that should avoid this windows only issue. [jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Seam Remoting not converting collection objects correctly
Hi, I am currently using Seam 2.0 GA. Through the use of Seam Remoting, I find that there is a bug in how seam decodes Collection objects on the client side (javascript). For example, on the server side, I am doing the following: List getTestItems() {...} When the seam proxy decodes the message it cannot determine the object types inside the returned collection so it returns someting undefined. But if I define Generics then it works: List.. getTestItems() {...} This means that I am constrained by what I can return. Is this solved in the latest release of SEAM? thanks, Paul View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4123876#4123876 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4123876 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: how to estimate / calculate the end date of a process?
The startDate indeed gets a value if the task is started. What you can do is - make sure the tasks is not auto created (see api/xsd) - create an action on task-node enter event that puts a 'trigger' on a (message) queue somewhere with a delay to create the task. afaik, most jms implementations support delayed delivery, so maybe that can be used, or maybe even jbpm timers... Ah damn it! Too many caveats. @Mykey: If you are using Facelets, which I hope you are. [jboss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - JBM 1.4.0.SP3 JMSX properties bug
I've run into a problem using the bridge with a provider that is sending JMSX header properties (provider-bridge-JBoss JBM). The JMSX properties are NOT getting ignored. http://viewvc.jboss.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/messaging/trunk/src/main/org/jboss/jms/server/bridge/Bridge.java?r1=2817r2=2906pathrev=3189 revision 2906, Thu Jul 19 11:07:43 2007 UTC introduced the following code: if (!propName.startsWith(JMSX) || propName.equals(JMSXGroupID) || propName.equals(JMSXGroupSeq)); NOTICE SEMI-COLON! { msg.setObjectProperty(propName, entry.getValue()); } Additionally, in JBossMessage.java there is code that will throw an exception when a JMSX property is being set. This is causing a problem when using the bridge to write into another provider (JBoss JBM-bridge-provider). My question here is why is the JMSX property not ignored as the code in the bridge above intends to do? I've added code to catch this exception and ignore if to get it to work. Is there any other way to integrate Alfresco with JBOSS without using Alfresco portlet instance. Please reply. Well, I advice you to get the JBoss tools and download Seam (which includes loads of examples of using Seam with RichFaces) View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4123928#4123928 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4123928 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user
[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Type Checking in Expression Language
It works for you because you don't have a proxy in that situation, I guess. And I had it as a Facelets function and then put it on the entity, it turns out isInstance(Class) is useful in other situations - because of the proxy problem. [jboss-user] [JNDI/Naming/Network] - Re: Problem Retrieving Bean Locally
I have to apologize, I made a very stupid mistake... The reason that error message didn't come on search engines up is because... Its my own exception it ;). Turns out that the cluster I was connecting to had its IP address changed and that was causing the error -- not JBoss. I updated the IP and everything is great now. Sorry to waste your time, a mod should delete this if possible! I have to add though, JBoss 4.2.2 was a breeze to configure compared to 4.0.4... [jboss-user] [Management, JMX/JBoss] - Re: Jboss mbean server (vs) JVM Platform mbean server
Oh that's nice, was helpful information. Provided a situation where the Jboss mbean server is the platform MBean server [with th flag set], will disabling the remote access flag for jvm disable the remote access to jvm for platform mbean server? Or in other sense for enabling jboss platform mbean server remote access, do i need to enable jvm remote access too? Some sort of overview would be helpful, yes. Looking at web.xml then the logical starting points would be org.jboss.seam.servlet.SeamListener and org.jboss.seam.servlet.SeamFilter but without some sort of high-level map it's easy to get lost... [jboss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Re: ArrayStoreException when accessing bean from war
Please disregard my previous post - it still doesn't work! The configuration now is: one .EAR with 4 stateless session beans 2 .WAR's (jax-ws webservice servers) I just wonder, is this something that should work on JBoss or is it (not yet) supported? Thanks for any ideas!
