ghtdak, you still haven't told me what your actual issue is.

The logging file just indicates you haven't installed all dependencies.

What is the *specific* thing that does not work for you ?

btw. Birt et.al. is *not* needed for normal operation so I still need to
understand what your actual issue is to help.

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - process variable not persisted when changed in sub process

2008-12-15 Thread janvandeklok
Hello.

 We have installed JBPM 3.3.0 for evaluation purposes.

During testing we ran into some problems when using subprocesses.

According to the documentation, a variable defined in a subprocess should be
saved in the mainprocess when the subprocess ended.
This does not seems to be the case in this version.
Is there somthing we overlooked or is this a bug?

After the process-state Ontvankelijkheidstoets has ended, the variable
subProcessResult is on the process instance is null despite the fact that
this variable has been set in the sub process, the decision node Resultaat OT
however does the correct thing !

  |  public String decide(ExecutionContext arg0) throws Exception
  |   {
  | System.out.println( Decide which flow to follow depending on process
decision node.);
  | String result = (String) arg0.getVariable(subProcessResult);
  | if (Constants.SUCCESS.equalsIgnoreCase(result))
  | {
  | System.out.println(// subProcess exection was succesfull, keep
following the yellowbrick road);
  |   return Constants.SUCCESS;
  | } else  if (Constants.FAIL.equalsIgnoreCase(result))
  | {
  |   System.out.println(// subProcess exection was no good, FAIL);
  |   return Constants.FAIL;
  | } else {
  | throw new Exception(Unexpected value in subProcessResult
variable :  + result);
  | }
  |   }

Can someone tell me what is wrong? Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong??

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Jan van de Klok

By the way: In version 3.2.3 the decision node Resultaat OT does not react
on changes of the variable at all.

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Problem with a decision node in a fork, join construct.

2008-12-15 Thread janvandeklok
Hello,

 I'm using jbpm 3.3.0. and we noticed a problem with the following process
construction:

 a fork that splits into 3 decision nodes, these decision nodes transition to
either a task node or directly toi the join.
Transitions from the decision to the task node are OK, transitions from the
decision node directly to the join will throw a StaleObject Exception when
trying to update a token for the fork.

We use Oracle 10 as the database.

Is it a bug or what ??

any help is appreciated!

[jboss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - Re: Upgrading to JBoss 5.0

2008-12-15 Thread ataylor
You probably need to do something like add an interceptor to the following
aspect.

 bind pointcut=execution(*
org.jboss.jms.client.delegate.ClientConnectionFactoryDelegate-createConnectionDelegate(..))
  |   advice name=handleCreateConnectionDelegate
aspect=org.jboss.jms.client.container.StateCreationAspect/
  |/bind

The aop docs should help you with what you can and can't do.

[jboss-user] [Beginners Corner] - unable to supply libraries

2008-12-15 Thread alfonz19
Hi,

I've got some web application, so far I wrote only single servlet and it works
ok. Now I try to call code from some library. I set dependency on this library
in netbeans, so jar of this library is included in war. But this this library
needs OTHER library to run(no at compile time) correctly.

I've managed to locate THAT library. I've tried to set up dependency in
netbeans, then I put it in JBossRootDir/lib directory, then in domain/lib
directory and I'm still getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError. I even try to
unpack war file and stuff that libraries aside ehm that first library (sorry,
it's quite confusing) but it did now work either (I kind a expect that).

what am I doing wrong?
thanks in advance,
alfonz.

Martin,

It certainly looks like a deja vu! In the current code of 3.3.0. ther is
no flush before the session.lock method.

Was the calling the flush before taking the lock the solution to the problem??
If so, will this be fixed soon??

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: How to configure org.jbpm.web.JobExecutorLauncher?

2008-12-15 Thread vkozlov
mputz, I tried it just now - but unsuccessfully. I use Firebird as JBPM DB, and
as far as I can see - the JobExecutor holds opened transaction from its start
to infinite...
The only one solution I can find is
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBSEAM-3837
- because https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBPM-1166 still not fixed.

But, sporadically it causes deadlocks in Firebird and/or conflicts in Entity
Manager, so I decided to make separate webapplication for Job Executor instead
of two context (Seam'ed and Seam'less) in one app. Of course it's stupid way
but simple, anyway it works for me :)

Can you also try to run with debug on org.jbpm.graph.node.Join? I'm curious to
the value of the lockmode. You can also see that in the database on the
definition of the specific join node.

Also... your clients are remote clients or MDBs?

They are probably on the DLQ. You can configure a number of retries before the
message goes towards the Dead Letter Queue.

You probably need to consume those messages on the DLQ. of if you have a
testing environment, maybe you should just reset your DB.

But whatever manipulation i do afterward on cached objects gets updated

The lockMode = FORCE. This is what the debugger says.
I don't know where to look for in the database for the lock mode in the join
table???

the parentToken that will be locked has a node attribute that called Fork !!
The token that is referred to in the exception has a node reference to the
Fork!!.

I dont know anything about the interal working of JBPM, so I can't say whether
this is normal or not??

And it is indeed the parentNode that is locked, so the fork.

And the default lock is 'FORCE' which is identical to 'UPDATE' (for which
'pessimistic' in jbpm is a synonym.

UPGRADE_NOWAIT is another oracle specific one, just not sure (and no time to
find out) what the exact difference is.

Btw, could you try to make the transition to the tasknode the first one? It is
not realy deterministic, the order in which they are processed, but I'm
curious if it makes a difference at all if one of the transitions has gone to a
persistent node before the others are processed. The order is my best guess to
be able to achieve this

2008-12-15 Thread rob.stry...@jboss.com
JBoss 5 does not work by default on new servers. I discovered this over the
weekend. I've yet to discover a way to add a folder to the deployment scanner.

The workaround is after creating a new server, open the server in the server
editor by double-clicking the server. Then switch the deploy location to the
option of the server's actual deploy folder. Use the JBoss Deploy Folder.

In GA, this will be fixed. Either for 5.0 the default location will be the
deploy folder, or I will have discovered how to ensure the .metadata folder is
added properly to the list of scannable folders. I was at work on this on
Saturday but came up short.

[jboss-user] [Installation, Configuration DEPLOYMENT] - Automatic installation on multiple systems

2008-12-15 Thread do-not-reply
Hi and greetings,

not quite sure whether this is the correct place to ask, but...

My company is using JBoss on multiple physical servers. Now the number of
Jbosses and applications hosted on top have exceeded a size where all the
installation, deployment etc. can be done manually. Funny enough, nobody
thought about automated installation and distribution processes so far.

So my question is: is any info available on how to build an automatic JBoss
installation process in enterprise environments? Like integration in default
OS packaging mechanisms like Solaris packages or RPM or similar? It's not just
about copying the files, but as well things like environment specific
configuration during the installation process?

Next step would then be automatic updating of the existing JBoss installations
in case of patches.

That's for JBoss itself, not for the applications that will be deployed.

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction...

Thanks and kind regards,
Dunc.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - Memory leak in JBoss Messaging 1.4.0SP3-CP02

2008-12-15 Thread J.Hedin
We have found a memory leak in JBoss Messaging 1.4.0SP3-CP02 on JBoss 4.2.2.GA
+ JBoss remoting 2.5.0SP1. We have nailed it down to the opening and closing of
a non transacted JMS connection factory within a JTA transaction. The reason we
need this is that we do send JMS messages to a singleton service in the cluster
within a transaction and react on the reply. We have not been able to find any
suggestion to fix in Jboss messaging, but a workaround with no memory leak.

Pattern:

Memory leak:

MDB in JTA XA-transaction - jBPM - EJB3 SLSB - Send JMS via JNDI name
ConnectionFactory in no TX mode

No leak:

MDB in JTA XA-transaction - jBPM - EJB3 SLSB - EJB3 SLSB with REQUIRES NEW
transaction attribute - Send JMS via java:/JmsXA

JBoss Tools 2.* doesn't support Seam 2.1 fully. So your JBDS installation can't
pick up some core variables (identity, credentials, ...). Please use JBoss
Tools 3.0 which supports Seam 2.1. I recpmend you the latest nightly build.

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Problem with WS in jBPM

2008-12-15 Thread rodosa
Hello!!

I've a problem. Some moths ago, I made a prototype using WS, Jboss 4.0.5
and Jbpm 3.2.2. It worked!!! It consisted in that an app (that resides in Jboss
4.0.5) invoked to a WS that was in jbpm 3.2.2.

   Now, I want to do the same, but it doesn't work. I don't know why don't
work. The main reason that I could imaginate is that I changed the jdk version.
Now I'm using jdk 6.0 instead jdk 1.5.

   The problem is:

   - The WS seems that is desployed fine because I can access to the wsdl file
in :
http://192.168.0.130:18080/Requirements-JbpmWebServices/JbpmWS?wsdl

But if I put into the navegator ---
http://192.168.0.130:18080/Requirements-JbpmWebServices/JbpmWS
It fails and the following error is shown:

  | org.jboss.util.NotImplementedException: HTTP GET not supported

  | javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:810)
  |
org.jboss.web.tomcat.filters.ReplyHeaderFilter.doFilter(ReplyHeaderFilter.java:96)

On the other hand, when I run my app and I try to call to my simply web service

Thanks!!!

You may have seen from my other thread, but I upgraded to 5.0.0/1.4.1 finally.

For Seam/jBPM integration and using of Seam managed JBpmContext, it's required
to disable transaction management in JBPM and use Seam's transactions. Besides,
if I disable transactions, it causes incorrect work of Job Executor. So I need
two configs - one for Seam managed JBPM, another for Job Executor Servlet
(which will run in same web app but outside of Seam contexts)

another thing to try (keep in mind, I do not see them as solutions!!!) is to

There was something in the Jira, but I think it was fixed

was fixed/changed, and not the Join?!

@Jan, curious to hear about your test results!

2008-12-15 Thread PeterJ
Let me see if I understand your question correctly. You changed the HTTP port
for JBoss AS from 8080 to 80, and this ran fine on XP, but when you try the
same thing on Server 2008 it does not work. Is my understanding correct?

Did you use TCPView or netstat to see if port 80 is opened by the java.exe
process?

I assume that you ran JBoss AS with the -b 0.0.0.0 option.

What version of JBoss AS and JVM?

(By the way, I am glad you are no longer hosting the web site on XP - having
more than 10 concurrent connections on XP violates the license agreement.)

What is your isolation level? And could you create a minimal unittest like I

The type of web app and database config you are describing could be packaged in
several ways, only some of which I will mention.

You could have a WAR file for the app itself and a *-ds.xml file for the data
source. Moving the app to another JBOss AS instance involves simply copying the
WAR and *-ds.xml files.

You could package the WAR and *-ds.xml within an EAR file. Then there is only
one file to copy. This also works well of you have EJBs.

[jboss-user] [JBossWS] - Enabling HTTP Basic Authentication for EJB3 web service

2008-12-15 Thread getaceres
Hello, I have some EJB3 web services in a jar and I want to use HTTP Basic
Authentication + HTTPS to access them. I've looked at the documentation and
I've found ways to do it by using custom JBoss annotations like @SecurityDomain
and @WebContext, but as I want my application to be portable, I wouldn't like
to bind my code to JBoss libraries so I'd like to configure it through an
external descriptor. In the documentation it's only described how to do it for
wars using the web.xml and jboss-web.xml but I can't find anything about how to
do it for EJB3 jars.
Where can I find documentation about the custom jboss deployment descriptors
for EJB3? What are the elements that I have to use to enable HTTPS and Basic
Authentication for my EJB web services? Is it possible to do it without custom
JBoss annotations?

[jboss-user] [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Field 'INDEX_COL' doesn't have a default value

2008-12-15 Thread NSchweig
HI,

I use JSF,EJB with Hibernate as Persistence Provider and MySQL 5.

In my Entity CmtUser I have a list with groups:

  | @ManyToMany(mappedBy=members, fetch=FetchType.EAGER)
  | @IndexColumn(name=INDEX_COL)

and in my entity CmtGroup I have a List with members
@ManyToMany(fetch=FetchType.EAGER,cascade=CascadeType.ALL)
  | @IndexColumn(name=INDEX_COL)
  | private SetCmtUser members = new HashSetCmtUser();

So there is a join table for this relation (generated):

If I now try to persist this relation I get the following error:

This problem still persists. Is there any update from the latest releases of
remoting. It is also reproducible on 2.2.2.SP10.

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: Problem with a decision node in a fork, join construct.

2008-12-15 Thread mputz
I've made another test with a stripped version of your process. I've removed
the decision handlers, and made a direct transition from fork to join in one of
the branches.

This is the result:

  | HSQLDB:   3.2.2: OK, 3.2.3: OK
  | Oracle:   3.2.2: FAILED, 3.2.3: OK
  | Postgres: 3.2.2: FAILED, 3.2.3: OK
  |

The session.flush() in org.jbpm.graph.node.Join was introduced in 3.2.3. I'll
test this with 3.3.0 later or tomorrow.

I know it sounds not possible but it is the case, seam files are not content
assist helped

When I engage the content assist I get below red written, content assist is not
availible in the component xml...

I see the XSD files in Jboss Seam jar but there are not resolved from the
content assist...

If use the content assist in presistence.xml it is functioning there

There is a global web.xml located at server/xxx/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/conf.
Add the filter there and it should apply to all web apps.
