Here is what I tried. I modified server/default/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/serverxml as follows: Connector port=${peter.port} address=${jboss.bind.address} The the command line I used was: run -Dpeter.port=9090 When it came up, HTTP was bound to port 9090.
