Not sure what you mean by left out. AFAI remember, it has been scheduled on the 1.2 release for a long time. You may as well ask why clustering or message bridge was left out out of 1.0 too. BTW If you want to implement this on 1.0, be my guest. It would be pretty trivial to do. Just look how it was done on 1.2 and port it back. I shouldn't take more than 30 mins.
