[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Captcha image doesn't appear =(
I put jcaptcha and some other jars inside my /server/default;lib directory and it works fine... but, in teory, "my_app/WEB-INF/lib" and "jboss/server/default/lib" locations are part of my classpath, so, why my app doesn't work when the jars were inside it ? Thanks for the attention and time all of u spent helping me ! =) View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4093708#4093708 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=4093708 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

you might want to try to drop the jar in /server/default/lib directory. I was looking to do the same thing but didn't even realize that the CaptchaResponse annotation existed. My guess is that you need to create a getter method (with above annotation) on the Seam Component that handles the form you are associating the captcha input with. Because I was unaware of the annotation, I found another solution. If you are using the / in combination with the for the captcha input, you can use a custom message from your own message bundle: | | | | | | | | | Note that "invalidCaptcha" should be whatever you named your property in your message bundle. it seems that there is already such thing (simple mathematical questions) inside JCaptcha ... see : com.octo.captcha.text.math.MathCaptcha Maybe a simple change of the current integration would be enough ... (I cannot read those captchas either ...) Sure, that all sounds good. Maybe you can try it by modifying one of the Seam examples and submitting your changes to JIRA. I have no idea if it is faster than JCaptcha or if it needs a running X server too but at least the output seems more readable (I couldn't read JCaptcha output if my life would depend on it). However: an alternative to captchas could be asking simple math questions (like they do at jroller). Together with a tag that translates the numbers and the operand into iso & hex - e.g. 1+2 would be: 1+2 - this should be as save, cheaper to compute and much easier for users than barely readable captchas. Last but not least this "translator" tag could be used to obfuscate email addresses so they can be safely displayed and don't get harvested by spammers which seems to be a quite valuable addition to me ;). Please have a look at http://www.seowebsitepromotion.com/obfuscate_email.asp for a more detailed explanation! So what do you think about this? Can't you solve this by setting the property java.awt.headless to true, either by passing it to the JVM as -Djava.awt.headless=true or by programmatically setting it?
