As you suggested, I filed a JIRA issue for this :

Note the problem occurs also when using dependsOnMethods, so it looks like the 
problem deals with dependent testing, not only test groups.

We haven't tested SeamTest with dependsOnGroup.

If you file a JIRA issue, I can take a look (I recently overhauled the boot 
structure for SeamTest, which will show in Seam 2.1.x releases).
