The extended listener helps you avoiding LazyInitialisationExceptions when working with complex relations between entites. However, it caused exactly the problem you had in my app. When I switched back to the normal listener everything was fine again. But it seems your problem is a different one, so I can't help, sorry. org.jboss.seam.jsf.SeamPhaseListener this is the listener I am using. the same exception was thrown when I tried to use SeamExtendedManagedPersistencePhaseListener. there is no error with other link than S:LINK.
